No excuses!!! This man is in med school and makes space to be present for his family. The priorities are in order! P.S. I never buy things from sponsored ads on KZread, but that tablet actually looks dope..

I just started MS2 and my husband and I are expecting our first little baby in less than a month. Thank you for showing us a glimpse of your life! The fear of not being able to balance medical school and parenthood has been lingering in my mind for the last 9 months, but videos like these really help!

Thank you for sharing with us all parts of your life! I am a older non traditional pre health student and I definitely always do think of having a family and after crossing path and seeing people like you showing that it is possible to have a family. It isn’t easy but it is what we want and it is what gives us purpose. During my younger college days I never thought of these things until I got older and realized how different it is to build a family, make investments, business and go to med school. I hope you and your wife take time to be able to take a single moment to break and think of how amazing you both are!

Not in med school. But in my last two years of PT school and have a kid on the way. I love the video, more content like this is inspiring and motivating and goes against the flow of what most people do. Do you have any more advice or content on this topic?

Thank you so much! And that’s a great question! I think budgeting your expenses and living in a way to minimize your student loans is important. I may have to make an entire video on this topic to give a more thorough answer

When you get the chance to make a video about that I’d really appreciate it!!
So from Brazil 🇧🇷❤️
Quick question, I am going into a pre-med course for my first year of undergrad. Is this course you’re offering suited for me, or would it be more beneficial to purchase it for my third and fourth years of undergrad?
@EvolvingMedic
2 жыл бұрын
Great question!! We do have a few underclassman in the course and the way it works is once you’re in, your have it for life. So you could continue to be a part of it for the rest of your college career. That being said, we focus mostly on perfecting the medical school application and most of the students are currently putting together their application (seniors or students who have graduated).
Hey Dr. Smith, I had a question that do you know whether undergrad prestige matters for med school?
@EvolvingMedic
2 жыл бұрын
Great question! It can definitely help open doors, but it’s far from the end all be all. Students at smaller schools can do very well in the medical school application and students at bigger schools can still do poorly. It mostly matters how you do at the school, not necessarily the school itself

@@EvolvingMedic Thank you!
Yo. Do you live on mayo clinic dorms. Im wondering how housing works for med students. Thanks in advance
@EvolvingMedic
2 жыл бұрын
Hey! There aren’t associated dorms in med school. Students just live in apartments, condos or homes
Having a kid is crazy expensive. How do you afford having a kid and being in medical school?
@EvolvingMedic
2 жыл бұрын
I was fortunate to receive a generous scholarship for medical school and my wife worked for the first two years. But I have friends who also have children with no source of income and they can still make it work. Student loans make it possible either way
