Day in the life of a Female Bricklayer
Музыка
Hello everyone, welcome to the first proper RattleKings KZread video.
Basically just wanted to show you what you can expect from my videos, time lapses, tutorials, tips and tricks. Mainly i want to show girls that they CAN work in the trade and they CAN be on building sites. I work with super fun friendly people and hopefully through a series of videos might convince you to turn to bricklaying or a trade as a career.
Not every day is rainbows and sunshine, we have our ups and downs just like any job, but we smile through and work it out.
We don’t have a labourer at the moment so we all just chip in and do all the jobs.
All my clothes I’m wearing in this video are from Scruffs Workwear.
Please let me know in the comments what you think of the video, also if you have any tips for me. I will be uploading 1 video per week so please subscribe if you want to keep watching me work :)

I've watched a few bricklaying vids and got to say you have some great skills. You've obviously had an excellent teacher. No messing about laying bricks with some considerable skill 👩🏫👍👍

Thanks so much 😁 thats nice to hear
Here’s a tip from an old bricky, when cutting your halves with your trowel hold the brick underneath with your hand and pull it towards the trowel as you strike it, or one day you might lose your thumb and just one more tip less tapping more money keep it going Linerforce.

My old boss back on the day chopped his thumb right down the middle. Top tip. 👍
Very inspirational! Makes me very proud to see you doing this. I’ve been bringing my three daughters to work off and on for a while, they will start doing summers with me soon. Keep it up, you’re awesome!
Soooo encouraging to see this (I'm only 2mins in!), You need to get this under the noses of the 'Women in Construction' board. High time we had more like this. SUBSCRIBED!
Nice going Darcie look forward to the next one 🤩
Well done Darcy what an inspiration to women coming into the trade you just show female can do the job and I'd welcome females into it aslo bricklaying needs a change and this is it if you ever need a job I surrey hit me up 👍

Great Video 😊. I'm currently learning Bricklaying in College. I'm also learning Carpentry/Joinery, Plastering & Painting and Decorating. Learning the trades is actually really fun and I agree Women should definitely get into learning the trades more. 😊

I'm sure I heard you say you don't know much about bricklaying, you've obviously picked up more than you actually realise! Good luck with the new channel Darcy, looking forward to the next vid.😄

Thanks so much, i do try hard to learn as much as i can. I just don’t want to come on here and people expect me to be amazing, because i’m still just learning and on my own little journey 😁 thanks for the support, it means allot.
Nice work. Always perp your next brick with the muck that you scraped from the last brick👍👍
Well this channel is cool! Thank you for the content 🤟🏼
Awesome work!
Fair play to you,get your time in you can work any were 👍
Top & tailed the perps 👍..quality work 👏…used to be a bricky myself 25yrs ago…never seen the spot boards up at waist height before.

I was on the tools in the 80’s and never saw raised spot boards. I’ve just started back in my late 50’s after retirement. I made some board stands, they are a revelation as are nylon spot boards. Not sure my old back could cope without them.
Good luck with the channel 👍
Haha Good stuff, Never heard these kind of accents before, pardon me lol 🤣🤓 Way better then the ones we have down here!
Go for it girl I have subscribed..🙂
go on girl you doing great job :) my friend:) new subscription
Nice video gal! If I could give you a tip it would be to lay the full brick first before putting half brick in the corner. Either way works though :)
Excellent 🍾🎊🎉🎈 👏👏👏👏
Absolute best of luck with your channel😎

I’m no brickie , I also watch Charlie collision and his misses Amy is a brickie as well on KZread
Thanks for the upload. Nice work where'd you get the blue plastic dori block from?
Darcy thumbs up!
Try a sled jointer for your bed joints for your initial pass makes for more level joints.
Use dummy frames or put a straight edge up reveals it will save you plumbing all the time
Very stylish furrow btw

You’re an inspiration, what’s the pay like and is it hard to find work?
I wish you all the best from Hungary. 👋
i think the thing is about this type or work is by 4 pm your on your way home smacking the roof of your van with the whole day ahead of you and feeling alive!
Woooo
4o years ive been doing the shit and im amazed at how much you dont have to do in a day on site now
Nice One
Good to see you Darcy, save yourself some energy by buttering the bricks away from your body lower down.
Lovely brick & block work. How long have you been doing it? (Qualified).
Good luck with your channel. Are you going to college or is all your learning onsite?
Don’t do what the rest do tell it like it is no sick pay no holiday money rained on frosted off this time off the year it’s a nightmare a real struggle in winter then when spring comes every one forgets the shite and blows about how much they are earning

Yay, thanks BrickJackets 😁
Get the scaffs to give u 2 inside boards.. Then u won't b squeezing through standards Great work.
Here is better tip I’m not a bricklayer “I’m an artist in burnt clay” strive to achieve that goal 👍
You’re gorgeous, and hardworking and capable
Female Bricky doin' a job many a male bricky should envy - you are a living example of the fact that a woman has no problem doing "a man's job" better than any man Impressed? No not really, you just confirm what I've told my daughters since they were old enough to listen
Good luck for the future. Plenty of potential to make a go of KZread.
Make them muck board stands with 4×1 for the legs next time far longer lasting
As a bricklaying apprentice who’s only been doing it a couple months, I’m confused as to why you lay some bricks with the frog up and some frog down? Is there a reason for it
How are your corner poles secured?
Because of all these google ads about female Brickie I came to look for a female Brickie to ask there opinion. Regarding the pay gap, etc. what are your views on the correlation between male and female sportspeople to male and female work people? Do you think the obvious performance differences mean diffrent pay or do you deny there are differences? Just wondering about proper female Brickies perspective
Nice pink trowel innit.. Is that a tool belt pouch under your jumper?
Should be plastic caps on the end of them scaffold poles could catch your face on 1 of them .. .. just be mindful .. great video thou 👍🏻
Be wanting same money next 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great vid 👷 and it helps that ur fit as 👷🎅
Does it change the banter with a girl on site don't think I would say half the stuff I do with a girl about
@rattlekings
2 жыл бұрын
Not at all… you should hear the stuff i say to them 😂
A tip is keep an eye on the halves on the reveals. Some are way to big. Cavity closures won't fit
Darcy give Amy a run....lol
Go onnn!! 🔥 🙌 🧱
Your parents must be very proud of you
Keep going your doing great watch out for the bricklaying police on here who will moan at everything you do

You mean Fabion? 😆
It always makes me wonder watching these videos from the UK how you guys build your walls with no air cap between the brick and insulation. No wind resisting layer on the outside of the insulation nor water vapor barrier on the inside between blockwork and insulation. How the Hell aren't your inside air full of contaminants?! Great job on the brick laying though.

@@FUT-Franklin No bud we dont render all buildings only if they built in Blockwork on outside, we would either render or clad. timber framed building we would use a Tyvek membrane . but no need when we build with face brick and block work. . we use Thermal Insulation Cavity Batts to insulate :)
good them insulation knives are
half bats turn the cut into the perp joint and then no worries about the half being short or too long sticking into the cavity ....where you doing your time at ?

hello mis in which country is this?
Where are you based?
Tidy work say your fathers very proud of you
Follow Charlie collision
Doing 👍 keep your thumb off the line as you lay the brick.
Being a bricklayer is harder than people think
Don't hit level with trowel blade.
without doubt you have a talent for brick laying but I couldn't work a line with you, try to avoid touching the line, others are using it too
Ur a Very clean trowel for only 1 year
Here in the states all our framing is shit wood and paper and we put brick ties on the 2*4s. You guys are way better than us.
Yeah your getting carried pretty well there.
A WOMAN LAYING BRICKS...🤪
a winters day in the field, and going home to "juice" ? ouch ! each to her own, as they say.
Darcie, what happened to your nose? 😊
