    Thank you for doing a good job. I drive a transit/sprinter, so I load my own vehicle, but the way my PH sorts my load on the pallets is incredibly important. I have one PH who does a great job. Everything is well grouped by SID. Then I have a couple other PHs who fucking suck. I had one on Friday who had SIDs scattered all throughout my 200 packages. Maybe 50% of it was in order, the rest of it was random. I already had a really heavy day lined up, his inability to care about doing a good job of just straight up being stupid AF really fucked my whole day up, big time. I dispatched an hour later than normal, ended up not being able to find a bunch of packages, and got back to the hub at 8:30pm. Next time I see him I'm going to rip him a new asshole.

  • @Canttouchthis04

    @Canttouchthis04

    2 жыл бұрын

    Lol, for real. Some of the "rules" at FedEx are obviously not real rules and are just there to technically cover their asses. Yeah, don't speed, obey parking laws, don't do anything unsafe in general, but you need to load your van with 200 packages, many of which are large and 100-150 pounds wink wink (some over 150 pounds, but the weight is fudged to not have to send it over to FXF), wait for the sort to get done late most of the time so you don't get out of the hub until 10am, drive 45 minutes to your first stop (if traffic is good), proceed to make 140 stops that are two to three minutes apart from each other on average, factor in the time it takes to park, get the package, and get it to the front door, factor in things that might go wrong (something will always go wrong), drive 45 minutes to an hour back to the hub to make it back at a reasonable time. A lot of routes are fucking ridiculous and get FUCKED a lot of days. My vehicle should not have so many packages that it is literally packed TIGHT floor to ceiling. I should be able to use my shelves and be able to access them well before unloading half my van.

    Everybody tripping about “tossing packages” you all gotta chill lol... we FedEx drivers do this job everyday we do this shit for a LIVING. You wanna see thrown boxes? There’s plenty on KZread that were caught on peoples ring bells. I’ll start vlogging my route on a regular basis and I can show you how hard we all work. UPS, FedEx, amazon, USPS - we all work very hard. The biggest/heaviest stuff all goes thru FedEx ground cuz our weight limit is 150 lbs. It’s not uncommon to deliver appliances, furniture, trampolines etc. People on KZread who vlog this job make it LOOK easy cuz they show you the good stuff. The job is not easy and that’s why most people quit within the first couple weeks. The main key to sticking around in FedEx ground and making decent money is first finding a good contractor to work for. A lot of them are scumbags and very grimy, and sometimes you have to go through a couple of them to find a good one. The second key is the most obvious, and that’s being good at your job. You’re working with deadlines and you have to work through all elements, including weather, construction etc. This job is not “hop in the truck, turn your GPS on and drop off packages” trust me, it’s way deeper than that if you wanna be successful and make decent money. UPS obviously pays more than all other carriers, but there’s money to be made in FedEx ground. It’s not a cake walk and you will be put to the test physically and mentally. There’s plenty of days where you will feel like parking the truck and leaving it wherever it is. When it’s pouring rain and it’s 40 degrees out and you’re delivering 2 sofas to a house that has a porch with 4 flights of stairs leading to their front door... it’s not a cake walk. Shouts to everybody out there who works in this field !!!

Also amazon AI giant vs a delivery company that has been in the game for so long and has not really evolved much. @@stalinsbitch7428 the trucks (actually called package cars, they can legally park in no-truck zones!) are actually serviced very very regularly, it's just they get hundreds of thousands of miles on them. There are newer models getting worked into the fleets that don't have that obnoxious manual in the middle - they're much nicer for the drivers. I've worked as a seasonal helper for the past couple years at UPS - it can be fun, but those old trucks are LOUD.

    Yo dude, as an ex-fedex package handler I gotta say that a lot of the problems with package handlers sorting the trucks is solely on the management/rules on how to load the trucks. Like for instance, the loading system is very counter intuitive to how drivers want their packages loaded; drivers prefer to have their largest stop to be by the end of the truck to make it easier to take off the truck, but management is very strict about putting packages on the truck where the label says, which often leads to drivers and package handlers to get frustrated with each other and confused about where to place packages. Looking at the size of your truck, it looks like you probably average about 200 packages a day, but keep in mind that your one package handler has 3-4 different trucks to load with anywhere from 100-400 packages and only 4-5 hours to load all of the trucks with packages weighing as little as 1 ounce all the way up to 150 (or more) pounds, not to mention the belts stop about ten times in a single shift, which can take anywhere from 1-15 minutes to start up again. All I’m trying to say is cut the package handlers some slack, I know some package handlers are just lazy, but most of the time it’s not their fault.
