Hi there,I stumbled upon your profile while searching for information online. Currently, I'm a nursing student in Italy. Here, we no longer handle patient hygiene directly; instead, we have taken a lot of responsibilities. The "oss" (healthcare assistants) consistently take care of hygiene procedures. I'd like to ask you, or anyone who can assist me, a couple of questions. I'm keen on moving to the UK, but I'm having trouble finding information about nursing there. Is it accurate that many nurses have resigned, leading to numerous job openings? Is the responsibility for patient hygiene on nurses in each healthcare setting, or is it just a problem in some structures? Such as public hospitals, private clinics, etc... I appreciate any help you or others can provide. Thank you.

Regarding the question about washing, I have just read that in the UK, there are 'post-graduate' degrees in nursing. If I specialize, does anything change?
