I work front desk at a hotel, and have always said the housekeeping staff and the laundry staff are the hardest working folks in the building. I have so much respect for what y'all do. I wish people would be kinder about waiting for rooms when we have to turn them around so fast. You did an awesome job! Keep up the great work!!

That means so much especially when people call us maids and just think we don’t know our worth cause what we do when really housekeeping is the heart of the hotel it was tough especially if ur a very hard worker and they take advantage of you.

Some people just feel entitled, I'm sure none of them have ever had to work in a job that requires them to do much labor, they don't know how to be thankful and appreciate hard working people like this young lady here.

I just started working house keeping and they paired me up with someone who spoke zero English. So I couldn't communicate or ask questions on what to do other than watching them, I'm completely lost on what to do at work and getting yelled at alot lol. This video helped me out A LOT! Disclaimer , someone complained that I put the toilet bowl bucket on the sink . It’s not a toilet bowl bucket , it just a random bucket it put the toilet brush in because I don’t not want item touching the brush , that’s disgusting and they sit on the cart . So the bucket on the outside is perfectly clean to sit on any counter top or table .

This was very helpful to watch and to get a better idea of how I can be more helpful to the housekeeping staff if they ever do get to turndown our room. We’ve been living in a hotel since March and will be till may. I usually decline when housekeeping comes by every day since I’m there all day anyways, and my two toddlers make constant messes anyways so I’d rather be cleaning up after them instead of someone else. Plus I don’t feel comfortable with the idea of sitting on my butt while someone cleans the room with my kids running around 😅 I just ask for refills of things we need, but I’m grateful for the few times they do get to service our room if we happen to not be there. I appreciate your video and thanks for all the hard work you do!

I immediately remove anything off the counter tops , spray everything with cleaner . Spray down the toilet , every inch of it and the bathtub so that the cleaner can actually sit a bit . I then get a rag and wet it and wipe down the countertop and sink , then use a dry cloth to wipe down. Do the same for the toilet and bathroom . then grad all your towel , toilet paper , what’re you gotta put on the counter and then mop , voila down . dont worry at first you will be slow but then you will get the hang of it .

Yes , it is . A lot of the time we have housemen (same thing ) but they strip the beds and take the trash and then vacuum hallways and lobbys and etc . But as mainly a housekeeper yes we have . Honestly it more common to see woman , but who cares a job is a job and housekeeping need all the help they can get and your working to get paid . The average time we have is 45 min in each room , which is and sometimes isn’t enough . Do you think one person can get 30 rooms done between 8-4pm . A lot of people can’t clean well or want to clean rooms ,so we do what we can, those floors are sprayed and moped with Chemical/acid cleaners so their CLEAN , if you want a 1 hr floor scrubbing room ;hire the help . We clean them room to the code of conduct for hotel housekeepers , if you feel you can do better , become one . 💋
