I don't understand the difficulty in this concept. I've been saying this common sense thing since forever ago. Why would they prefer to overwork and overwhelm their workers and have to pay to keep hiring new workers, instead of hiring enough the first time around and give everyone less rooms or double up? It seems like a no brainer but......

Housekeeping job is not easy and its very hard work. Lots of cleaning and speeding doesn't matter you work at casino, hotel, senior retirement communities, etc. Its sad that the pay is so low. Housekeeper job should get pay more. Sometimes, I feel some staffs look down on housekeeping. They eat and left their stuff on tables , spill and just walk away, it just not nice. Please clean your mess. I think Hotels giving too much rooms, how can a person clean 20 up rooms a day. Its easy for the managers giving out for the staff but hey, why don't all the managers, director, etc. try to clean 20 up rooms and see how they feel.. even my boss say its easy....yeah right!! easy for you to say cuz you're just in the office all day long looking at your desktop...some people have no feeling.

Do you work full time or part time? I'm asking because I was a Housekeeper a year ago and they expected me to clean 15 rooms in a 5 hour time spand. I would start at 9am and they wanted me to be finished by 2pm. I timed myself and it took well over 45 to 50 minutes just to fully clean a room. They said the other Housekeepers finished faster than me but they weren't properly cleaning the rooms there was dust caked at the tops of the shelves and spider webs in the corners on the floors.

Room is so huge Got 2 large beds, got extra beds, got childrens bed , got living room and dining room some more and 2 bathrooms. Omg I just try to work as a part time for money and also for the experience and i quit after 4 days! 😅 Thats why Housekeeping jobs in hotels mostly they hire foreigners because no locals can work longer. Its super tiring job and not good for health in the long run because your uniform will be wet and dry and your back so painful. Most of the workers whi work for 10-20 years they keep coughing. Non stop work must clean 10-20 rooms per day. Must clean faster. No slow2 specially if busy. I feel like i clean the prime ministers room and toilet lol. Every thing , evry corner should be super duper clean! Honestly F&B dept is so much easier job in hotel compare to Housekeeping its a big NO for me.

Housekeeping is hard I’ve been doing it for 4 years now. And depending on which hotel you work for it can be extremely hard, I work for a business hotel meaning it’s a lot of one nighters meaning they stay one night and the rooms isn’t usually a mess HOWEVER we do get a lot of teams and families (wedding, graduations etc.) and that’s when the job gets hard. ALSO we do get pretty good tips and the pay is trash especially starting off. Also to my follow HK….do y’all think executive HK be stealing our tips before we arrive ☹️🤣

Anyone who works in housekeeping will tell you.... ASK FOR EXTRA LINENS! Housekeepers are expected to do so much within the hours in the shift. I can promise you (I worked in the hotel industry as a young woman)--We were told to not take apart the duvets, sheets, etc. if they "looked" and "smelt" clean enough to go unnoticed by the new client. So yea...ask for addition sheets, duvets, etc. and just do it yourself.

I was a housekeeper working for different hotels in the city of london for a top agency In london lots of people come and go in this career and 80% are all foreigners working as housekeepers.
