16:52 you should at the top build one of the stairs the turn 90 degrees then go straight the rest of the way. But that way the stairs will be hugging the rock wall rather than just going straight out

Goodness, all the comments. The fallout from this is over the top, in my humble opinion. The best thing is for people to pretend it was never there and move on. I've been watching people really advance quickly in this new one already without using a spam or grinding for hours. Just have to adjust your thinking a bit on how to do that. You have a lovely new tool in the beginning, but that's all I will share. Can't give away all the secrets. This update absolutely will change how you play. Embrace that. Have fun with it.

I'm absolutely excited to see the new towns and looting them. I'm curious if a double row of spikes will do better. The first to slow them down, the second to pin them. So many new options for tactics in this one depending on how the monsters react.

So far I found that light and noise meters keep going up as long as your forges, fires and machinery runs. You turn those off and the meter stop going up but does not zero. it zero once it reach 10 and then normally there is a base attack. haven't been attacked yet so still not sure what combo of defenses works but sure I will find out soon enough, lol. Spamming for tree cutting I could never get right anyways so for me it makes no difference, besides once you have Mike he does most of the logging and he never could use it, lol.

ok hints and tips for barn 1 goat will attack when shot with tranq arrow only 2 times you need a cart to bring to barn and put in ok chicken when shot will go straight to back pack go to barn and it goes in ok the chest in barn is for milk and eggs there is a food icon on upper side it hold 2000 food Barn holds 5 each goats and chickens write this down game sweetie so you do not forget lol

Remember to leave room for the well house. I am not going to make a joke about the stiff hog.

Love the series GE and you got me playing this game again :). This new update is awesome and I can't wait to see what else they will add to this wonderful game. I would love to see a way to bring down the noise/light meter when not using the workstations, like a time related thing when it would go down a small amount daily or something. Anyway the dev made a lot of progress and improved this game a lot over the years....bravo

make sure u have enough up there to make more stair in case an enemy breaks one, otherwise u cant go down without dying from the fall

You can still spam farm btw. Just downloaded the game today and already figured out how to do it lol. Hold your axe/pick in your hand and spam left and right mouse buttons basically pulling out your shield. You gotta get the timing right but it definitely works. Hope it helps!

Oh! You know what would be cool? Chainsaw! Not immediately, but at some point later in the game. You can build much more complicated things so why not, am i right?

U need an uncovered outdoor deck up there for water, or cooking will eventually be an issue if u find a stove. or u could a small kitchen by lake, which will make butcher hand-washing easier. can u make a room under that ramp?

I was wondering about the quick-harvest. I kept trying and wasn’t working. Also, you can have more than just one land claim, you just have to place it outside of the already established radius of the original one. Love your videos, their my chill time routine in the evenings before sleep.

The noise meter is new we are learning as we play

You can spam click the shield with the axe it cancels the animation of the axe makes chopping trees faster.

Controller support would be amazing. Then I could play; 'til then, I'm enjoying your plays!

I'm building over by that big waterfall its a sweet spot

the axe or pickaxe trick work but its a bit tricky you just must press other number so when your axe is number 1 then fast press number 2 its a little tricky but it work i like your videos

When making BIG Builds the spamming of the Hatchet or Pick was nice, but I can see why the DEV took it out.

Try not to build outside of area because it will let you build platforms but when you try to put workbench or saws and things it won't let you put them down even if you put another land claim down , iput another land claim down and it let me build the floor but would only let me build bed , but couldn't place important placeables on top so I couldn't make planks so waste of time , love your builds but please test before you go bigger so you won't have to redo or start again

I think that the heat stroke thing needs to be adjusted, it is way out of wack. The tree cutting hack needs to be restored, it takes too long and the days are two short for the extended animation. love Love LOVE the series ! You Rock brother.

100%, getting heat stroke at 18 degree's C is crazy. That's 2-4 degrees cooler than what is considered a standard comfortable temp. Either the temps need to be upped 10-15 degrees or the heat stroke needs to be nerfed hard.

Great Shield also time to bash the enemies with a shield yet the dev didn't put it yet though :)

Just letting you guys know the spam tree still works there are two methods to do it but it's not as efficient as the original method that was patched out. The game settings when you are making the map tells you tree respawn rate is 5 days

Oh I’d have this game downloaded and I’d be playing it but unfortunately I’ve been stuck with a console and been trying to get a PC for the last 6yrs but every time I get any money for a PC something happens. This time I fractured my T3-T4 vertebrae and herniated the disc. It put me out of work and I’m about to lose my house because of it so been thought but will continue to watch your videos as long as I can

Aw man. I will pray for you man. Hope you have a place to lie your head and that you recover from your spinal injury. There are resources that can help if you have not already tried, such as medical leave or reasonable accommodations. Every single company has to be in compliance with ADA(Americans Disabilities Act) which dictates all companies must provide reasonable accommodations. Requestor must provide a medical Doctors note outlining the persons limitations in relevance to their work duties.

Um, GameEdged, sometimes accepting a little "exploit" as a bonus instead of going to the developer and asking "did you intend for me to do this?" is perfectly okay. I can accept that you get really excited by being able to talk directly to the developer, but some things are better left unsaid. A lot of people are probably turned off by chopping trees for 2 hours to build a 2X2 hut that looks like crap. If you can turn a 2-hour job into a 10-minute job without actual "cheating" then why complain? Anyway, I love your channel, I just do not know why you would go on and on and on about a thing that does not affect gameplay, but instead lets people PLAY the game instead of grinding materials for hours.

The game has built in ways to make the grind less and less (iron axe and circular sawbench, and Mike the NPC helper). And the dev already knew about the exploit before GameEdged said anything. GE wasn't complaining, he was just replying to probably multiple comments he gets under each video saying "you know, there's an exploit you can do to chop trees faster, it goes like this..." so for the new people he explains that yes he knows about it and no he doesn't really want to do it because 1) it might get removed (which it did) and 2) he doesn't mind playing as the dev intended. There's a difference between a pure, tedious, boring grind and actual gameplay. Maybe that difference is highly subjective. If you feel like it's a 2 hour grind for you with a crap payoff, then maybe the game isn't for you. Or maybe you could try postponing building as much as possible in game until you've acquired the tech and npc to help make it go much faster.

In GE's last video, he said the dev had told him it was gonna stay, so presumably, that was it and GE went on with his life and even began using it, thinking it was going to be permanent. Then the dev changed his mind and decided to take it out. My point is, I don't think it's fair to blame GE without proof, saying he's the reason the dev took it out. Also, my gosh, it's the intended game mechanic. If you don't like how the game is supposed to function then either don't play or change your playstyle so you get the more advanced items/helper NPC/tech before you start doing the more grindy stuff (big builds, etc.) It's a glitch, you said it yourself, so it makes sense for it to be taken out. Otherwise the progression isn't as valuable/useful and the game is less balanced. Why worry about getting the iron axe or pick to gather resources faster if you can already spam click to do it quickly? Clearly not intended.

For all of you complaining about GE getting your favourite toy taken away from you, watch kage848 video of this current version of the game. He used this glitch all the time and he reported it to the Dev directly just like GE (and probably most content creators, this is early access and we are asked to report glitches to the Dev). Is not exactly a massive time saving which has been removed. If you're that concerned do something about it rather than whinging about it to one of many people who have reported this glitch. If the games too hard turn down the settings, if still too hard to and play my time in Portia like my 13 year old is .. just quit moaning it's tiresome the number of people who moan all the time about something so inconsequential.. I'm just as bad for moaning at you, my apologies I should do better.

Have you ever been to a construction site? They are loud af and I think it should add to the noise level. Just my 2cents.

Also one thing that impresses me in Sons of The Forest and I think should be added to other games, is how we can toss logs at the log stands and they just pop right into the stands.

I loved playing this game, and was looking forward to the new tougher enemies, but with the Dev move to remove things like the spamming, I will not be playing it again. I will sit back and enjoy watching streamers play. In my humble opinion its like when a dev tries to block mods from their games. If you can make your enemies tougher why take away something that makes the players life easier. Gamers all enjoy games in different ways and styles. I look forward to seeing your new series. Also, just remembered you never fund the second tech in the town you went into. Also never realized I needed a hog rolling down some spikes to make my morning.

The game has built in ways to make your life easier (iron axe, Mike the NPC, circular sawbench, and iron pickaxe). You can also change the toughness of the enemies in the AI Settings if you think they are too tough compared to how they used to be.

@@nightprowess1244 Do you automatically start off with these things are do you have to work your way up to them? You have to grind to get them. Some people game time is limited and so anything to help decrease the grind is welcomed. Everyone games differently and everyones gaming skills are at different levels. I played this game when it originally came out and for my the grinding was tough and you couldn't turn anything off. I love the new Ai's and was looking forward to playing with them, but for me the main thing I like is base building and removing the spam dampened that. I may not want to play it now, but I enjoy and support all my gamers that do.

@@lisam4037 You might have to grind to get them, it kind of depends if you get lucky or not. You might find the advanced workbench and circular sawbench tech in the first one or two towns that you loot, if you're lucky. Also, one could make the argument that exploring the map for the tech isn't a grind, it's just gameplay. Idk if you've ever played Minecraft but in that game, for example, if you play in normal survival mode, and you want to do a big wonderful build with stone bricks, you'll need to go out and gather a lot of stone. If you want that gathering process to be less of a grind and much faster, you can use in game methods like enchanting your pickaxe with efficiency, getting better materials for your picks to increase speed and durability, and you can even go so far as to get a beacon with Haste going to make you mine even faster. My point is, no one is upset that you can't spam click with the wooden pick or stone pick in Minecraft to gather stone much faster. They either do it slowly if they don't want to acquire the stuff needed to make it faster, use in game methods to make it faster, or play in creative mode. I think it should be the same with this game. As for the issue about not having a lot of time to game. Let's say you have 1 hour per day maximum on average. With the spam click, it would take you 10 irl hours to make your awesome build (10 irl days). But without it, it will take you 11 irl hours (11 irl days). Just a very basic example. I don't see how it taking a few extra hours or days is that big a deal. In fact, I'd argue it's a good thing because then you'll be spending a few extra days playing the game you enjoy, building, and feeling a sense of accomplishment once it's complete. Regardless, I mean no disrespect to you. I hope you continue to have fun gaming, whether with this game or any other game you decide to play.

My eyes are not the best and games with that type of Pixels is hard for me to see and/or play, so even if I wanted to I can't play those types of games. I feel the same way about games when a developer will block a mod. Now admittedly some should be blocked.You just have to respect the developers right to stick with his vision of his game. it's not like I haven't already bought the game to support when it first came out.. And some people were upset. They attacked GE about it, whiched pi$$ed me off. I saw one comment that blammed him and said they were not going to follow him anymore. I am nt upset, a little disappointed that crutch has been removed. But I will continue to watch GE and other amers play it and scream and yell at the screen for them.

The reason "No other game does this" is not a valid reason in my opinion...because logically speaking, if you want your game to be like other games....then why not play the other games?...the fact that this has what no other game has...makes it special. Although not game impacting it was a nice to have feature (play as you like)...helps with reducing grind time feeling especially if your not someone who has a lot of time. and you may say it's only 3 seconds but it adds up. Being forced to not use something that you had until now for so long (again not wow impactful) leaves a bad feeling. It's like.. Play as you like but only in the lines we decide.

Love watching the huge base builds that you do but I feel like you rush and focus too much on trying to build too much too early. You should work on gathering the things to get better tools, backpack, weapons etc. first to make the building process smoother. Overall love the videos, it just feels a bit rushed to me but everyone has their own play styles. 😊❤

the light and sound meters (as they currently work) combined with the new monsters means I deleted the game. I don't need an ever-increasing difficulty. I checked out of the game at version 13 with the mini-bosses. I love the new map and the ATV. I wish the new MOBS and the current mechanic for the light and noise levels would go away. sadly, there is no good way to voice my feelings.

I think in the "AI Settings" you can turn off base attacks but keep the ones in town. You can also change how much health they have and/or how much damage they do to you per hit.

I feel you. I'm more the grinding building type. I want relaxation out of games. Just a itzy bit of shiver. Unfortunately we seem to be a minority. everything gets loud and fast. and I'm getting old and slow😂😂😂 Hope the settings work for you.

@@mooping7049 it isn’t that I want no base attacks or no monsters, I don’t them at this level. Sadly, I tried the new beta and any travel via ATV had so much stutter that almost couldn’t control it. I may try again when version 14 goes live, but I’m not very hopeful.

So YOU are the higher profile KZreadr who broke the whole highspeed chopping glitch! You putting it in Da Dev's face did nothing good for us regular players. There are very few beneficial glitches in this game and when one is found, one that doesn't radically break anything, it's disappointing to see it gone. What you've done is to make the grind more grindy... Thanks GameEdged...

OK, can we please stop ragging on GE about the spamming issue. Believe it or not he is not the only Gaming youtuber that has asked the developer about this. Ultimately it is up to the developer what is and is not included in their game.They have a Discord page and i'm sure they can be reached through Steam. Name calling is just wrong, we are all adults here not pre-school children. You can either let the developer know how you feel, opt to not play the game, or adjust the way you play to accomodate the new developement. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk and I hope you all will continue to support GE and other gamers that take the time and effort to put out great content for us to enjoy.

Gameedge whining to the developer again because he doesn't like something in a game not the first time. Developer was going to leave the chopping glitch in until gameedge whined about it. Maybe you should just play your game and not ruin some tricks for others.
