On Day 70, I headed south from VA Rt 42 and met several thru hikers whom I interviewed. Then it was up and over Kelly Knob, where it began to rain. The rain picked up and soon I began a 3 mile ascent. Part way up, I had dinner at War Spur Shelter. Afterwards, I pushed on to the top, but I nearly decapitated myself on a fallen tree. Once to the top of the climb, I hurried to the car, but 0.3 miles before the end, I checked out Wind Rocks, which afforded one of the most amazing views on the trail.
