Welcome to Boujee, Montana. Thanks for sharing.
Love Whitefish! Do you know Polebridge? The town is entirely off grid. Saw lots of bears outside our window. We stayed there for a week, then a week near Whitefish. Great hiking everywhere. Whitefish is costly to live. Ate in Lake McDonald lodge and took the boat ride. I can understand your love for that region. Thank you for sharing. ❤

That would have been really cool! Happy trails
Try not to think about the PCT while you’re temporarily off trail. Use the time to recharge and get some extra calories

I am stunned by the beautiful country you live in. The British Isle has its fair share of picturesque views, but of course nothing on the scale of the USA. Thanks for sharing, it is still hard to get my head around how large the U S is. I did travel round from NY to L A via New Orleans and Niagara, with diversions to the Grand Canyon and the Rockies via Denver all on The Greyhound Buses. But that was many years ago. Always wanted to come back, but I never did.
