Day 4 of "Surviving" the Otter Trail in South Africa

We challenged ourselves to a 5 day survival known as the Otter Trail in South Africa. This has to be one of the toughest things we have done and were we prepared for it, probably not.
The Otter Trail is a 5 day hike through the Tsitsikama National Park in the Western Cape province of South Africa. This hike is 45km long and the only thing that is provided is a hut for the night as shelter but comes with no electricity, no blankets and no kitchen. This means we need to carry all that is needed for these 5 days on our backs.
Day 4 is said to be the toughest day not only because it is the longest day in terms of distance but also because it has the Bloukrans river crossing. The Bloukrans river comes with a lot of questions as its 10km from our camp and we need to cross it at low tide to make sure we don't get pushed by waves and are required to take dangerous routes to exit the river. The tidal time table also varies from website to website so making sure we time the river crossing correctly is our biggest concert. We are also greatly fatigues after the past 3 days and not sure how long it can take to get to the river or if there is unexpected challenges along the way that may set us back!
Lets hope we make this river crossing!

Imagine how terrifying it must've been for the people who had to climb up and put the rope trails in. Well done guys on finishing another epic achievement. Just one day to go.

Wow, I am so surprised for Leanne. Looking at her size, so impressed she can do those things, carrying all that weight, over that distance and period of time. She is like Frodo in Lord of the Rings, you would not expect to find such strength there.
