We did a 5 day survival known as the Otter Trail in South Africa. This has to be one of the toughest things we have done, and were we prepared for it? Probably not!
The Otter Trail is a 5 day hike through the Tsitsikama National Park in the western province of South Africa. This hike is 45km long, and the only thing that is provided is a hut for the night. This means we had to carry all that was needed for these 5 days on our back.

Fantastic trail. I think about the first Europeans, the Portuguese sailing next to this trail 600 or so years ago.
from 1979 to 1982 I worked as a guide during school holidays on the Otter Trail it was a Jol The first waterfall was always great and we did plenty snorkling along the trail there is a service road to each hut

A bit late here but I'm currently binge watching videos on the Otter Trail as it's on my bucket list! I have a couple of random questions, I suppose they're girly questions but here goes. I've seen a lot of people swimming in rock pools and in the sea on their hike - do the ladies hike in their cozzies underneath their clothes (uncomfortable!), and then how do you dry your towel if you need it for both swimming and after your shower? Speaking of showers, they don't look super private - do the ladies shower in their cozzies or go nekkid? Thanks for the amazing content!
