Day 27 of EPIC | Arms & Abs Workout [DUMBBELLS + BODYWEIGHT]

Arm workout and abs workout in one! We will focus on strengthening and toning the triceps and abs during this bodyweight and dumbbell workout!
You will need a stable chair for bodyweight dips, a mat and a pair of dumbbells! The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 8kg each!
The timer will be on for 50 seconds of work and 10 seconds rest during the abs portion and 40 seconds of work with 20 seconds of rest during the triceps portion!
This is a slow paced workout with focus on the full range motion of the tricep exercises, aiming for depth not reps on the tricep push ups and control on the abs!
During the abs section we will use a mixture of bodyweight and dumbbells to target the core and abs!
When we get to the tricep section, every 3rd exercise will be bodyweight dips! I have chosen this as a staple exercise as you are able to do a lot of reps and modify accordingly. As you fatigue, you have the option to bring your feet flat on the floor and knees bent at 90° so you can keep repping out those dips! Ensure you ease into the depth slowly and perform the movements smoothly.
During the skull crusher, depending on the level of fatigue of the triceps and the dumbbells you are using you can perform with 2 dumbbells or 1! I begin with 2 however to ensure my upper arms don’t move, I drop to 1 dumbbell.

    This one was so difficult for me that it was almost discouraging. BUT, I did not give up, and I will take your advice Carolyn, not to go on my knees and do one or two with good form. Then I said to myself "there was a time you couldn't do any of this... look how far you've come"

    i felt the same way! workouts like these have a tendency to make me feel i've lost all the progress i've gained doing her workouts now for several months, but I finished, i did the best i could. those skull crusher pushups though...holy h.

    This workout humbled me, made me realize that I have a long road ahead of me to build arm strength. With that being said, I am very grateful to have such a program to work on and build up my strength.

    Hi Caroline...Hi everyone...day 27...this looks like a tough one to me! The triceps section especially looks as though it is going to burn with lots of push up variations and repeated dips! The abs looks quite tough too with a great selection of exercises quite focussed On lower abs! I am looking forward to it and expect it to burn!! Another thing I love about Caroline’s instruction is that you can see when she finds it hard too...and my feeling is always if Caroline did it then I can do it too...I find it very motivating!     Hi Caroline...just finished! I was right in my prediction that this would be tough! I thought the abs workout was superb...one of the best I have ever done! But Yiu sort of forget about this when you get into the triceps...this really does work the triceps to exhaustion! I’m afraid on the finisher...I went down slowly OK...and held it for a while...and then I was completely stuck! I simply couldn’t push back up again!! Another great workout, Caroline! Thank you!     It was very challenging but I saw myself pushing through the triceps than I did with the abs, I guess my core is not as strong but I'll be patient and work hard on it.

    Mannn I never thought there was a push-up that I couldn’t do until the last slow tricep push-up at the end. I was ok going down but couldn’t get back up for the life of me. Gotta lot of practice to do! GREAT WORKOUT!!!🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

    That was really tough, like all of it😭 did my best and definitely pushed myself as much as I could since I fell on my knees a couple of times. But I kept on going after gathering power!     Discovered this channel about six weeks ago and for the first time in my life I enjoy getting my a** kicked on a regular basis. Being 64 I have wrist issues so I do pushups on my fists. But that is a small price to pay for the best workouts I've ever had.

    This was so difficult. Throughout the whole video, I kept battling with myself wanting to just stop and quit. To all the ladies out there who feels like they can't do it, YOU CAN! Don't let the devil on your shoulder stop you from being your best self and accomplishing your goals.

    Day 26 completed! Today's workout flew by!!! I've realised now that I love repeats during workouts! And I'm feeling so much stronger now knowing that I did 10 minute complexes today😎😂 it's great to see how much progress I've been making in terms of my performance! Loved this workout!     Think I'm seeing smoke girl!! My triceps are pumped!!! Triceps are ny weakest and hardest for me to strengthen but I LOVE training them. Bring us more tricep training!! 😘

    Good morning Caroline Good morning to all... I have just completed day 27💪 Ouch, ouch this was definitely a tough one today... Especially those triceps dips, my god I had to really focus on these... Was a very challenging work out for me as I struggle with my abs, but I impressed myself today as managed to them but in a slower way but in so proud I did them... Really enjoyed this today ❤️ My new Kettlebell 12kg arrived just as I completed this one so I was so excited to use it I did your 15 minutes Kettlebell workout and I smashed it. I'm definitely one drowned rat now Hope everyone stays strong on this one today💪💪💪 See you all tomorrow for day 28...

    So good today! I loved the ab routine at the beginning and the addition of the weight in some of the exercises! So challenging! Then, on to arms! This was so tough and I was like - oh, no! Each time the dips were up again! Thanks so much Caroline!

    this is the first time i have ever cried during a workout, not because it was challenging (although i definitely felt it and love how it pushes me to work hard) but bc i felt burnt out and lost in my fitness journey. after completing this however, i feel so motivated to keep up with this channel and do more workouts. thank u so much for ur inspo, please keep doing u❤️❤️

    Always a good sign for me, if you have long trousers and no shoes on, then it becomes exhausting, slow and intense 🙌🏼(during yesterday's exercises YOU would not have put on long trousers) 🤗 "Your arms and abs will feel soooooo tight after this !! Yes they were tight, no wonder with all the dips 🙈 "I know you will love this session !! " Yes, I loved her, especially the first part. And when I thought that Caroline's repertoire of ABS exercises must be exhausted, I was taught better. How can you come up with such grandiose, really supportive, demanding exercises? 😇 When I finally knew how to do it, and that with dumbbells, then the time was over. I hope these exercises just come back, they are just amazing. 🙏🏼 Thanks for this demanding, intense video. Your body is and will remain pure motivation and incentive for me 💟 have a nice evening

    Finally 😅there were no lunges in this one lol, whenever I see Full body , HIIT , or a leg day 😂 I am like there must be lunges involved in that !     wow, i almost completed this one! thanks for hard challenge. I see where my arms are weak and can only get stronger!! you are amazing and i have been following you for several months.     Hi Geri...I really loved this workout while finding it very tough...sounds like you were the same. My triceps were worked absolutely to exhaustion by the end! Abs were tough too...a lot of focus on lower abs...I'll do the abs part of this video again in the future as a post-run workout etc. as I thought it was so good. Have a lovely day! Matthew

    YAY - 27 done, well on my way back to 33 where I left off... I realized this a.m. that I LIKE the sweet pain and stretch I feel in my body through these moves. I feel the SINEW in my body, revealed by shredding away fat, and I am becoming so much more flexible than I’ve ever been in my life. I work out first thing in the day and its sets me up to meet ANY challenges I have in my day, whether physical or emotionally. I feel STRONGER, but calmer. THANK YOU, Caroline - I can count on you to bring peace into my life. I did this workout today - the very last day of December, last day of 2020 - I’ll be going into 2021 a different person because of YOU and your generosity to provide your workouts. I pour out blessings for you and your family, from the bottom of my (good strong) heart! May you celebrate a very life changing year ended, where you provided hope, spark, sparkle, peace, calm to so many.

    Day 27 Completed! The push ups killed me today! I practiced triceps push ups off of my knees today and I could lower myself and hold myself down for a second but I couldn't really push myself back up. This is progress from a couple of weeks ago when I couldn't even lower myself into a tricep push up! I'll be able to push myself up off the ground in due time! Till then, I'm gonna keep practicing! Also, skull crush push ups are still far away from me😂 but I'll get there one day too💪 Thank you so much Caroline for pushing my limits with every single workout and being so inspiring🌹❤️

I do hope, Caroline, that you can do this automatically somehow and that you don't have to be physically there to make them public. I worry that you don't get any time to rest...do make sure that you take care of yourself. We all rely on you...and we all care about you too! Matthew

    Awesome!!! Caroline, I want to ask if you would provide a stretch session? I want to do about 5 minutes to 10 minutes stretch in the evenings to increase my recovery and definition. Was hoping I could get from you. I only watch your fitness videos. Cause you are the BEST!!!

    Good morning all!☀️ ✅ This was an amazing workout! I feel as if I used my dumbbells the entire time; my arms are on tight and swoll. This, to me, makes me feel a little stronger than using weights. If you haven’t noticed any transformation by now, then you were just watching the workouts from your bed🤣🤣🤣

    Cried after the workout because I was so happy I made the whole workout even though it was so hard and I'm not even nearly as strong as you are... But still happy I did it and hopefully I will get better after doing this workout again and again :) thank you for motivating me to get stronger

    I was really dreading this workout after previewing it and reading the comments. I was pleasantly surprised how many pushups I was actually able to perform. I wasn't able to keep up with Caroline, but I definitely felt like I was able to do a respectable amount of each type. After completing this workout I feel strong and proud. Thank you Caroline for pushing us to concentrate on good form and quality reps instead of dropping to the knees. I really do feel EPIC after this one!
