Hi Karen seeing all that food at the market should make us realize how lucky we are all in this world, we cook our rice similar to you we rinse, then bring cold water to the boil and after 10 Mins perfect rice . You mention not having the energy to bike ride we walk most days maybe that might be an option for you , take care ATB 👍🍺🍷

Hello Norm and Tina! It took me years of trying and failing in the rice department. Who knew it was so easy 😂. And yes, I do walk. When I have to 🙄. I recently had cataract surgery so walking was my only option. But still took my coffee out for my early morning sunrise. Need to keep moving 🚴‍♀️ 💨

That's so great you're doing this again. All of those treats are the beginning!!... What torture! LOL Have you watch the Uncle Roger video about fried rice? It's hilarious. Everybody has such a unique way of making rice. We would pick garlic too. And spinach! Good choices. It's crazy how money can go a long way over there.

Yes! And more to come! I was actually pretty proud of myself to come up with creative ways of using just a few food items. Everything went fine - except the rice crackers. Still can't believe it has been a year since you last did this. You just be so hungry after you get back from biking!!!! Always great to put things in perspective. What are you doing look at all the food. That would be torture, all the food you can't eat. I use a rice cooker and there is a line and I press the button. The bugs in rice is very true and also they shovel it into the sacks. I buy rice by 20 pound sacks.

Actually has been a year and a half since the last one! Glad to hear about the bus. Hate to think I have been wasting my time and energy (and water) for nothing. haha!!

Day 1 is already done. I happened to be going to a food market - it reminds me of how many people would never have the money to even buy one thing. They just walk on by like I did. I hope you had enough food today x

It looks tough, just rice (even with a bit of flavour added). It is almost impossible to imagine the thousands and millions of people around the world struggling to fuel themselves with even something as basic as rice. The food market really highlights how fortunate we are and most of the time we don't give it a second thought. On a very different, and rather random note - It is very interesting to see how you cook rice which is completely different to how I do it. It was great to hear a harpsichord in the street market music you used. Great music used throughout too.

Thanks so much for your great feedback. The rice thing - I have tried so many ways. But this seems to be foolproof. Now you have to try it and get back to me 😂 Glad you liked the music. It is really important to me to get just the right piece. The music in the market was Bach Brandenburg Concerto ... um 1? 3? Can’t remember now. But they are all great. Got me through years of revising. Hope you are doing well 🙏🌷🥰🍷
