This been a great period for survival games, Soulmask, Bellwright, ASKA. Finally, colony building games I'm so sick and burnt of the sea of solo survival games.

Be carful with Bellwright. It is by the same team who did Last Oasis that has practically been abandoned in EA. It is also published by Snail Games which is the leader in Ark publishing and the garbage surrounding it.

This game is great. I made it to winter w 14 villagers and I was not prepared for it. At the end of autumn I started pushing flax in my farm to try to make clothes to protect against the cold. I also still had shelters for 3 of my villagers without a campfire close by. It was a nerve wrecking season and ended up losing my lumbermill to attacks but I made it through without any deaths. I ended up going hunting every night so my villagers had something to eat when they woke up.

I love that you've started a new series for this without the time limitation! 😀 And remember that you can always ask your local viking - Hrafn - for what stuff means. This is very heavily based on norse mythology, like Valheim, only the developers have taken a few creative takes as well. hehe.. Fun-fact for you though... Jotuns are giants. Kind of like trolls. They're not really EVIL, but they are in constant war with the Gods. Odin himself created the world from the body of the first Jotun after he slaid him.

I love how he was like "This game used to have a tutorial but I don't see it" and then walks almost directly into the Wisp lol

Vibes of Valheim. Example: ground leveling. Mechanics user friendly. World is too unnatural for my preference. Animals all mutants too. All in all it looks worthwhile to try.

Loved the Demo - but I can't see paying $22 bucks (almost $23) for yet another Early Access game no matter how much I have faith in the development. Maybe on a sale or something. Till then I'll just enjoy the vids. Appreciate the coverage Kage!

imho, I don't think buying games in early access is a good call, even if you have faith. you can do it, but never advice someone to do it.

Really looking forward to see the progression of this playthrough, been eying this game for some time now.

Oh also a tip that I found. If you can find a really good beach spot with an island that's got water, that's like ways deep most of the monsters or whatever they are won't go near it and attack it. They won't go past the water usually. I don't know if it's just a glitch or not. The other thing I found is if you build it up really high and make it to where the only way you can get up there is to jump up a ticket to it. That also keeps them from attacking it and breaking it

Possibly it's a reference to Ask and Embla. It's been over two decades since I last read any of the Poetic Edda so my aging brain sometimes makes connections that do not exist...

Hey Kage, I'm ur new subscriber. I was hooked into your gameplay during Valheim days. Now I am thinking to buy this game too. :}

I read a negative review of this game with a play time of 3 hours talking about how " By the third blood moon they destroyed their base and their villagers was useless etc etc" Third blood moon in 3 hours? THIRD??? i have had 1 blood moon that had 3 zombies and a skeleton with a shield...that i wrecked with the SKINNING KNIFE!!! and i had a total play time of 5+ hours...on unchanged base settings(if you can change setting i don't know how) i crafted clubs and gear for my three villagers gave it to them and they destroy whatever they come across XD this game is stupid fun and easy if you played ANY survival game at all...or sim for that matter...

I have a hard time in the winter... I was doing so well until my mushrooms ran out... An for some reason my farmers keep breaking there rakes so much an trying to get a lot of sticks or go do anything in the winter is hard.. I was trying really hard to build the leather working station. Hoping that if I made like some sort of leather armor or something I could clothe my people and it would keep them warm... But it took me awhile to be able to build the hunter station and my Hunter just like my Fisher people aren't doing their jobs...

my day 0 make all tools (first the stone knive sice i didnt find a stick early and its enough to kill wisps) find spot to build village fireplace eye of odin (spawn villager) upgrade fireplace 1 person hut rain catcher woodcutter place

lol forums are all complaining of their village getting wiped out by a bear around day 15, I am curious to see if Kage experiences this.

Trees do not regrow per the devs. Forage respawns with the seasons.

It's procedurally generated according to the Steam page.
