Sitting here in tears, a proud North Philadelphian and long time fan who used to play alongside Dawn at Dobbins basketball courts. This is who she has always been and her heart is big enough for anyone that needs that special love and care. God bless Dawn, and congratulations!!

Her heart was with her team, being unfairly framed in a cocoon of privileged negativity that is a part of our daily lives, to nudge people to look within themselves in relation to the world we live in. She never called Lisa a racist. ​@@Cosmiclava-f9t

Why dawn is so disrespectful to others and she didn’t deserve to win any awards I had to turn her off because the news had her on I can’t stand her attitude she has. She disciplines players for their actions and to me that’s wrong. She didn’t deserve to win any awards.

I'm British but a mother of a son who played basketball, a family member who has had to watch and be there with other family members with Cancer. Dawn's speech was truly inspiring. She did not make the award about her but about how her actions and voice can make or help make a difference. Here in Britain we could do with more coaches like her, she does everything with her heart and sole, may she carry on the being the person she is. ❤
