Dawn McAvoy: Pro-Life and Pro-Woman

Glen Scrivener interviews Dawn McAvoy, co-founder of Both Lives. They discuss the unborn, how the pro-life cause can and should be a pro-woman cause and the incarnation (which began at conception, celebrated at the Feast of the Annunciation every year on the 25th of March, 9 months before Christmas).

Amen and amen! This for me was revelatory! Yes, I am a protestant evangelical, but for over 40 years I have dived pretty deep into ecumenical theological waters and issues, and I admit that though I have VERY high christological convictions, you help me see the Annunciation in a whole new light! Though you are targeting the 'choice' issue, the implications are astounding on that and so many other levels! I am by nature a contemplative- and you really sent me in overdrive! You can't get a more 'human' story (masculine and feminine) than Jesus' story, can you? WOW! Thanks to Dawn and Glen both! Keep up the 'good' work!

After the votes in the UK parliament in the 1990s, I feel that pro-life issues, particularly abortion, have been on the back burner for churches. Let's keep fighting for godly standards! This talk about both lives, about the church being family and supporting people who have crisis pregnancies, and most of all about Jesus' incarnation and his nine months in the womb is inspirational! I used to argue with people that a child is human from conception, and go on marches. But Dawn's calm explanations and call to practical help are so crucial. Glen also has a short video that explains to a non-Christian why Christians would think differently: he comes at it from a different angle, and that's very refreshing (can't find that vid right now ☹️).

Thank goodness for this woman! It’s high time Christians get smarter about their message! Most people respond to a reasonable and well posed argument .

Also, very enlightening for an apologetic relating to Christmas! It seems in our culture, we think and speak less about conception, and go straight to the birth narrative. I am beginning to see this is a mistake that creates muddled thinking, and trivializes much of the story about "Emanuel."

What could be said to your flatmates mother, so when you look at your daughter is this what you see, you have thrown your life away she is a wasted life, you can also say to the mother, so when your mother looks at you is this what she sees, that she has thrown her life away that to me you are a wasted life, what will they say when you ask the Mothers in this world, when they look at your children will they say to you, I have thrown my life away I have wasted life, I tell you the truth, the glory of man is God and the glory of woman is man, look at your women man and there is your glory, so when you see a woman standing in front of an abortion clinic, then the man who impregnated her must have treated her like a whore.
