The PRS Vela is certainly an interesting choice of guitar. Maybe Davy just likes to change things up every now and again to keep his playing fresh? I know I do. I actually miss the PRS Custom 22 he used before the Telecaster. 🙂

@@satanpuncher06 I understand they are fine instruments, but as a non-playing guitar groupie I lean toward traditional. From a distance it looked like he had a PRS contract after going solo, went back to Fenders, then recently returned to PRS. New freebies along with a check...??

@@harleyspringer7034 To the best of my knowledge Davy hasn't gone back to being a PRS endorsee. The fixed bridge Cu22 (I don't think it's a McCarty) has been with him for at least five years and possibly nearer 10. The Vela is certainly new to this tour but how long he's owned it is a matter of conjecture. I think if you look back through Natasha's videos you'll find him using the old Telecaster a few days prior to this concert. So either it needed some work done, necessitating a switch to a PRS, or Davy felt his playing was growing a little stale and wanted to refresh it by playing something different. As a player with a large collection of guitars I can assure that spending a lot of time playing the same guitar can lead to you churning out the same old licks at the same time in the same songs and it can really help break out of that rut when you pick up something different. I doubt Davy's fans notice but Davy himself would feel enthused by playing again. Expect the old Telecaster to return soon though. 🙂

I honestly think it was the stage and surrounding area all brick and concrete with them in a tent. He didn't sound like this at the other venues we saw him at over the weekend. But it is what it is.

@@1AnitrasDance That's ok, not having a go - you put most of his gigs out there and it's all great. Davy hasn't put much studio content out, and the best stuff is live anyway. I got his bootlegs tracks off his site, but would be great more live work was available generally.
