    @@thomastakesatollforthedark2231 It doesn't follow any normal tropes and instead takes on these two unique concepts and blends them into one. A massive cityscape that covers the majority of the plane, and an alliance of guilds carrying their own individual weight & influence to the city. It's like if the Hunger Games and Coruscant came together in a high fantasy world! The amount of replayability, ease of use, and variety of possible MTG inspired adventures truly sells it. All that said, Eberron is a well fleshed out world with a great mix of Steampunk & high fantasy, and Wildemount is like the darling child of 5th edition and the celebration of our success as a hobby over the last half decade, so neither of them are far behind,. Theros is going to add to that ever expanding list of grest settings too with a Greco- Roman god & demigod focused setting. Needless to say, 5th edition is in a really good spot right now.

    The Orc Warrior charges towards the armored, warhammer wielding Dwarf, ready to strike with his twohanded sword. Getting ready, the Dwarf takes a stronger stance, almost clenching his free Hand to a fist around the reddish glowing Orb he conjured in his Hand, before throwing a fireball at his enemy. The Orc evades the attack with a jump, getting almost blown off his feet by the following Explosion, before staring dumbfounded at the Dwarf. "How you do that?", he asked. The Dwarf, not sure how to react to this, nervously fumbles with the shaft of his warhammer. "Er, what... What do you mean?" "How you throw magic?" "W-well, I'm a wizard, so I should know how to use spells." "WHAT?!", the Orc shouted. " You Wizard?! But you wear plate armor and swing big warhammer! Wizard can't do that!" "Well, I can, because I'm a Dwarf. My people are naturally trained in the use of some weapons like warhammers or the use of light or medium armor." "That not fair!", the Orc shouted angrily, stomping his foot on the ground and throwing his sword at the ground. " Dwarf can learn fancy spells and use weapons and armor like warrior! Even squishy Elf knows how to use swords when they go being wizard! But me? Nooo!" "What are talking about?", the Dwarf asked, irritated. "Me say that no fair! You goody people can use weapons and magic, but me Orc, me has to be warrior to wield sword!" "What?!", the Dwarf shouted. " You're joking, right?" "Me wish I was", the Orc exclaimed with hanging shoulders. "But without being warrior, Orc can't even wield butterknife." "Nonono, that can't be right", the Dwarf said. "You're a Orc, the terror of the free lands, created by a cruel Wargod to fight against the forces of good, and you tell me, without training as a warrior, you can't wield any weapons? I don't understand that!" Sorrowful the Orc sank to his knees. "You know what?", the Orc asked, lifting his face to Dwarf, tears welling in his eyes, "Me neither." With that, big tears started to roll down the Orcs cheeks. The Dwarf, not knowing how to react to this whole Situation, walked a few steps forward, laying his Hand on the shuddering shoulder of the Orc in sympathy.

As elf or Dwarf, you can still wield some martial weapons if you play as caster, while as an Orc playing as a caster, by choosing that class you litelally learn how to use a butterknife/dagger. Without multiclassing, that probably the closest a Orc caster comes to a martial weapon.

    underthepale it’s a good setting with good adventures, it’s made to notnspecifically tie to the show, just the world it takes place in. A good portion of the book is about the continent, it’s locations, cultures, and things but it includes 4 pages of normal magic items, new one forged from the gods of the world, subclasses as he said and spells. The races can fit well in any setting. The book is good for anyone who will enjoy a new setting, or new subclasses, or new spells, or new magic items, or less so interesting new monsters, or a few sub races. I’d recommend it if you like any of those things.

But graviturgy I just love it, all the abilities are low impact but you can keep throwing them out constantly (my love of cantrips may be coming out) Also the level 2 ability while only being a single feature includes 2 different effects which both can simultaneously buff and/or debuff a creature depending on a situation, I just love it.

    To anyone thinking the Gravaturgist is underpowered, get jump plus adjust gravity on and have your barbarian grapple and launch enemies into the sky or suplex them, trust me, doing an extra 6d6 damage with a grapple attack at level 2 is nothing short of ridiculous, especially when you can catch the barb coming down with feather fall,

  • @piemaniac9410

    @piemaniac9410

    4 жыл бұрын

    the only issue is that jumping uses your speed, so the barbarian would only be able to reach a height equal to their remaining movement speed. Assuming your character had a strength score of 20 you would be able to jump 8 feet in the air with a running long jump, this then gets doubled by adjust gravity to 16 feet, and finally tripled tripled to 48 feet. If this is at level 2 though you could only reach a height of 20 feet, since it takes 10 feet of movement to preform a running jump and you cannot move higher than your speed during your turn you can use the Dash Action to jump the whole 48 feet up, but that does give your grapple target a round to try and break out, and for every 2 points of strength below 20 you have you lose 6 feet of jump distance, so a level 2 barbarian with 16 strength can only jump 36 feet up in one round

    Not sure why Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica gets a lot of hate in the D&D sphere, i think its a great setting and was a cool addition to the D&D settings options.

    Not a CR fan, but I did pick this up... mostly for the Echo Knight, given how Luna was using it to tear through stuff in Necrohunt. Personally, I'd reskin the echo knight (like Jo and Shelby did) to fit the game. And I LOVE the setting info. It reminds me of the gold standard, the 3e Forgotten Realms main book.

    Overall, it's an amazing book for dnd. I particularly like the arms of the betrayers which are magic items that upgrade themselves as the game goes on. That's super neat and saves me from having to to figure out what the players can do with their old +1 magic items when they find a new +2 one. My only disappointment was that they didn't include Bloodhunter as an official class or gunslinger as an official fighter subclass. This stings especially bad as they did include a Bloodhunter in the bestiary and they were mentioned several times throughout the book.

    I realized while watching this video, but not because of this video. Dunamancy is where you get your magic from or rather a sub type of magic. There is Arcane that is gifted through the study of magic in its raw form, Divine Magic Selected and then gifted to Mortals by their Patron, And now Dunamancy the study of how to filter Magic specifically to alter reality.

Oh, I'm grappled? No, the echo's grappled. The echo is immune to status effects anyway so it can't be grappled.

    I think the channel divinity is pretty good, Inspiring Smite to at level 5 gives you up to 21 temphp to give to whoever you want, its' completely off of the action economy which makes it incredibly valuable - despite its very limited use. The aura sucks but they do get guiding bolt and haste

    Apart from some small timeline issues and the fact that they are written to take place at different times, things are mostly consistent between the two books. Enough that you could run a campaign that jumps between both continents pretty easily.

    Echo Knight has got to be the best summoner class in the game. Seriously, reflavor the echoes to be all sorts of random summoned creatures, have their different attacks use the stats for all the different weapons you carry on you since you're a fighter, pick up a scholarly background to theme yourself as a researcher who found a tome of forbidden eldritch summoning lore, and maybe take a 2 to 5 level dip in war wizard. Just for the defense trick at lvl 2 and a few key buff spells. Only go to level 5 if you want haste and can't get it from a caster in the party filling your ring of spell storing with haste and shield.

    Time Wizard is broken AF. Give bead with Tiny Hut to familiar. Have familiar cast it in fight and the entire party can duck in and out of the hut as much as they want. Enemies readying an attack? Go out the opposite side where they don't have line of sight, you'll have disadvantage but they arguably can't trigger their attack.
