The Bertans Redemption Arc officially begins..

He didn't get enough play time in Wizards, I am glad to see he is doing great in other team. We all know he can shoot.

Bertans is career 56% shooter from the corner and this year with wizards he shot 57% from the corner. Tonight he shot 66,6% from the corner. I like his energy and I'm sure he will blossom playing with Luka and Dallas Mavs. Spencer was too nervous tonight and his body is not yet fully there. I think he can still improve to be the player Mavs need in the playoffs. Next year he'll be like his old Nets days for sure.

Washington's PG play was poor this season, and Bertans did not get good open shots. Bertans played well for them when he was paired with Ish Smith, whom they could not afford after signing Dinwiidie.

He can't defend at this level that's his real problem (probably because his ACL injuries before the NBA) Guards try to attack him when he is in the floor in every opportunity possible He obviously can shoot but when he have bad shooting night it's really hurting the team together with his defense

@@Firstname_Surname Also I'd say don't judge by the month he was with the wizards. He avg in the low 40's for 3pt % over 5 years. Wiz just don't know what they're doing when it comes to rotations/ offensive/defensive schemes

@@1capatter I know that he is one of the worst defender in the league easily the worst defender of Wizards 2 seasons in a row(IT was the worst at 19-20 and in the league ofc) So at least when it come to defence it's pretty much a fact at this point of his career When it come to shooting it could be even 42-43% for 3 I believe in his shooting and his FT% is also high AF but he rarely get to the line

@@oror3751 I hear you, but I watched the Wiz play him & their defensive schemes are awful. Their defensive help is atrocious, lack of help defense & leaving people on islands by themselves. You don't have a player like Bertans guarding quicker players one on one. The Wiz has a talented group of players but will stay subpar unless they fix their coaching. Bertans will thrive a Dallas.

I envision a Peja like role for our team. His confidence is about to skyrocket. I like his quick shooting

More points in his first game with Dalla than the entire month he was with the Wiz

mans really just shoots the second he gets the ball... and it still goes in

I think the Porzingis trade is not as bad as people think. Dallas now has Dinwiddie AND Brunson who can take pressure off of Luka and play alongside him as secondary playmakers. Plus Bertans's game is unlocked in this Mavs offense and he just might return to his best version.

That’s great and all but the problem is the lack of size at the forward position plus we gave up a lot of offensive rebounds to one of the worst rebounding team in the league and no rim protection

The lack of rebounding and defense will kill us in the playoffs you can't go far getting out rebounded almost every game.

we sloveneians know bertrans and we know he can ball. Too bad KP didnt work out, lets hope bertrans stays healthy, he's a great fit to luka

i think that this will be the same as KP trade when THJ turn out the main peice of the trade =)

Dāvis as 3pts shooter is way better than KP (we all remember playoffs with clippers). And way better for Dallas budget too. In other side - KP doesnt make his best digits with Luka - we all know that. Maybe Washington would be better place for him.

Not bad for a first game, but i think he needs more time to adjust and find his place in a team, he should work on his shot selection, i can see that he is used to play like in wizards so he keeps trying to hit some very contested shots because of that.

His release is so quick he get his shot off before the defender contests, I for one hopes he doesn’t change his play.

Nice energy, but doesn't really move the needle for them for the playoffs. Maybe as a substitute for THJ's shooting. He prob got more PT due to Bullock's absence

Bertans addition to the team on the court is more for an additional shooter and floor spacing. I think he’ll be better in Dallas with less pressure where they already have a specific role they want him to play rather than at Washington where mostly everyone’s at “role-player” talent and fighting for a spot in the rotation

@@EnZo7992 I agree, provided he is not a minus on the court, the trade will have been reasonably successful. But I fear he does not bring much overall, since his best days are behind him. For the Mavs it is crucial that Bullock continues to play well and Brunson and the others. I fear there will not be much space for Bertans if the top 5-7 players rise in form...

As for my country men I wish Dāvis Bertāns luck but I hate Dallas Mavericks - so I don't wish them get championship. Bertāns will fit in Mavs game style if he can score but he is not player who can give large change for Mavs - yeah he can give more points then Mavs bench who could score only 4 pts against Clippers previous game :D. And still I don't see how Dinwiddie can fit in? 23 min 4 points and 5x assists.

Bricktans is one of the worst contracts in the NBA.. he is completely one-dimensional.. I'll take the unicorn playing 75% of the season over these two scrubs all day.. also it's not even a good money move because those two contracts combined exceed porzingis
