Davinci Resolve 17 Parallax Animation

Фильм және анимация

Learn how to use Davinci Resolve 17 to create parallax animation. I show how to upload a Photoshop file and separate the layers to create a 2D parallax effect in 3D space within Davinci Resolve. I also show how to use your existing image layers to extend your scene to create much more interesting animation scenes for the parallax effect to work better. In the example I use a desert photoshop file. This file contains the background sky, sun, background mountains, clouds, and foreground elements. By moving the background elements further from the camera and manipulating their size, parallax of the scene occurs when the camera is animated. The free version and Studio version of Resolve are both great for creating parallax.

    Everyone better hurry & make the shift to resolve. The rates it has developed these past two years alone should be enough even for the most obtuse. & it is free.

    Good tutorial and straight to the point! I tried to do something similar on my computer but I hit something unexpected. The Render3D node was so slow, it was almost impossible to work. In your video everythins is moving so fluid and quick. And it took more than 5 minutes to render a 4 seconds video. What was your hardware when you did this video? My system is not that old... I used After Effects to do the same and it took me ~15minutes, not an hour.

    I usually try to show it on a slower machine. In this case it was a i7 with 16GB RAM, GTX 960 graphics card. I have the graphics card turned on in the Render node settings. I have hard drive space open for the temp cache. What are you using? How much open hard drive space?

    question! i'm very new to Davinci Resolve, and this is a very helpful video but I wanted to ask how you actually get the finalised scroll? I understand the positioning, but how would you get it to pan? ^^;

    Animate the camera position from time zero to the end of your timeline in the Fusion page. Use the output of the render3D node as your guide to make sure the shot of your output looks good like I did in the video.

    anyone run into limitations of RAM and graphics card using this method? i'm thinking to build an entire world this way , specifically a massive cloud world that fighter planes can race through but i wonder if i am doomed to choke my computer to death if i load the world up with enough images and distance for an uninterrupted 5 mins chase. let me know if this crazy idea makes any sense and if anyone else has done something similar?

    This is very helpful but im stuck on the Blending modes.. In your example here... if you wanted the full disc of the sun to show through the foreground, how do you do I?. In PS you would you a Lighten or Screen type blending mode but Davinci isn't that simple...

    @@DigitalVectorStudios your flow already has a soft glow node but the sun doesn't show thru the foreground. Is it because you have a Glow node in there?

  • @DigitalVectorStudios

    @DigitalVectorStudios

    Жыл бұрын

    Adding a glow and soft glow will enhance the glow. Play with the settings to get it as bright as you want. To make the full disc show through its best to move the sun plane in front of the others in 3D space. If you want to play with compositing like PS, consider leaving the sun out of the 3D scene, then adding it in 2D space in the edit page. Play with the composition there.

    Drag and drop each png to the flow area in the Fusion page similar to how I opened the psd file. The png files should have a transparent background to make the effect work. Each png will need to be plugged into a 3D plane node similar to @1:35. Then the 3D planes all connected to a 3DMerge node. The rest will be the same. Change the scale of each png in the 3D plane properties panel.

    Connect a 3D camera into the 3D merge node. The 3D merge node connects into a Render3D node. Start the camera at one side at the start of the timeline, Move the camera to the other side at the end of the timeline.
