Davide's Way Against the Clock - Episode 3: Ortles
Спорт
Marco de Gasperi has been a huge inspiration for Davide Magnini. Both of them are great Italian runners from different generations, but now Marco challenges Davide with a big achievement: to break his record of Ortles peak from 2015. As seen in episode 1 of this web series, Davide couldn’t break the Stelvio pass record, but going back home and running in Presanella (EP2) gave him the confidence that he needs. Now he has a big performance to overcome, certainly more technical than Presanella, and with the focus from his idol on him. Will he make a statement and beat the record set by Marco de Gasperi?
Davide Magnini has 3 goals to achieve in the 2020 summer season. In a year of a pandemic without any trail running races, the young gun decides to continue on with his training with the intention of beating the fastest known times in the three iconic Italian courses (Ortles, Stelvio Pass, and Presanella) that have always been a spark of inspiration to him during his childhood.

Crazy time, just consider that the normal route usually takes 16 hours.
Yeeeesssss! One of the best things to come out of Covid is that great runners are focusing on beautiful individual challenges rather than the big public races. Jornet was already doing this, obviously, but it's so great to see Davide doing it now. I really hope you keep this series up even when the pandemic is over.
Thats so crazy. The Normal route he took takes normal mountaineers 2 days. first ascent to payer hut, then summit day and back to the valley. He just did the same in like 2 hours, what the fuck. Congrats! Thats a huge athletic achievement!

3:58 nice sight when david is running and others are walking with equipment on ropes
I did the tour many years ago and it took me two days, in the valley I was so exhausted that I slept in the parking lot for two hours before I could go home :)
Grandissimo! Che potenza! Bravo
Bravo Davide , un'esempio che anche i giovani hanno FORZA DETERMINAZIONE E CORAGGIO . Giù il cappello , viva l'esercito italiano .
One of the greatest videos on KZread. Should have one million+ views. Kudos, Davide and Salomon!!!!
Absolutely amazing, congrats! Is seems next to impossible to see Davide passing all the mountaineers with so much ease. Inspiring, well done.
Breathtaking! Kilian is right,He is the future! Perfectly edited, great job everyone 🙏👏
Fantastic and inspirational. The scramble section looked gnarly. Among other sports I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a professional cyclist too. He would kill it on the climbs easily.
Really impressive what Davide (but also Marco a few years ago) achieved here - i have done the normal route myself and it`s difficult to even imagine such a time could be possible. Looking forward to follow his next achievements, very inspiring for all of us average people!
Unglaublich was der Mensch für Kräfte aufbringen kann, meinen größten Respekt!
Wooooowwww! Ingredible. He is such an inspiration and yes, he is the future. No doubt to hear and read a lot of Davide from now on! 👍👍👍
Congratulations Davide! We were there on the 10th of July for Ortler Sky Trails and we will also be this summer. The Ortler still has many challenges for you and we hope to see you there again soon!
This is just amazing. Thanks for sharing this!
This one gives such a good feeling. Great achievement!

Wow!! Davide è un atleta fantastico
Thank you very much, any chance to upload single part please?
Mountain running at its best!!!
Insane.
My record was on 2017 from Gomagoi (1100m) to Payer Hütte (3050m) with 3h 16min :-). I can't believe what Davide did. Great!
Machine 💪
Beautiful series celebrating a young man working hard and living his best self. Thank you for sharing his story!

David the new Kilian jornet
Is he taking in any water in the time he's running?
Awesome! What did he do with his poles?

yeah, very good question, was wondering the same. I'm guessing that the lower part of the mountain was filmed on a training run and only the start and the snow part was filmed on the actual record day. it's absolutely understandable why they would do that, but they should definitely mention it.

@@jhnns_wndlng I suppose he offloaded them to one of the camera operators. Many runners don't use poles, especially not on the way down. On the way up they can be very helpful because they allow to conserve lower body strength. I only use poles up to maybe 7km/h when trailrunning. However, I am very far from that level: I think the Ortles route would take me about 6 hours up and down in good conditions like the ones shown here.
puh, the ortles is not a typical mountain for trailrunning ;)
Awesome achievement!! But why is running down a part of this? Seems anticlimactic and dangerous to me...

Sad and meaningless. Stop abusing mountains. Mountains are beautiful fragile territories that we share with wild animals. It is their home, not our home or playground.
