They got an amazing family. Even him returning years later multiple times for the show. It’s just that Doctor Who life 🤷‍♂️

He loved Dr Who as a kid. He becomes Dr Who and then meets his wife on the show. What a nice story 🙂

I think the really beautiful part of this is the footage of David with his family, all watching his first episode together on Christmas Day. I think that whole experience speaks volumes as to why we all love him. He’s a normal and grounded guy.❤️👍🏻

it's a shame this didn't continue throughout Matt, Peter and Jodie's eras tbh, at least on this level of regularity

It's so sweet that he watched his first ever Doctor who episode with his family 🥺😁

His family is so damn adorable. No wonder he's amazing.

Watching this 18 years later and then having another RTD and David episode come out next weekend is amazing, I cant believe that I can be excited for doctor who once again.

Oh my, how did I not see this before? What an incredible time capsule. He's all full of newbie excitement, fresh and green and excited about becoming the Doctor. Little did he know how he would become THE Doctor for so many fans. The impact that his Doctor would have... and that he would get to do it all over again in 2023! Also - other commenters have mentioned how sweet it is that he watches the episode with his family. That means, at this point in time, his mum and dad. He hasn't met Georgia yet. He hasn't adopted her son and had 4 more children with her. His family of 7 doesn't exist yet. How much his life would be about to change over the next 15 years, not just his professional life but his personal life. This is before Good Omens, before Staged, he was respected in the industry but he wasn't yet a National Treasure in the hearts of everyone. What a fantastic glimpse into the early years.

I absolutely love watching behind the scenes stuff and this more personal and in depth than the Doctor Who Extra, which I truly adore as well, no doubt but I kinda miss something like that from my other favourite Doctor which is 12

I've never fancied myself in love with a famous person as much as I absolutely *ADORE* David Tennant. 😭❤️ He's just so gosh darn SWEET. And I love Georgia just as much - how on earth do two people look so unbearably cute together?? How do they grin and suddenly the world is full of sunshine? It's not fair to the rest of us regular folks. 😭 Shoot me in the heart with a thousand arrows I am just dead with admiration. And thank gosh they'll never see this because I'm just embarrassing myself now. 😂 This is why I vow to never meet my heroes, not unless I want a lifetime subscription to "Things I Did Which Were More Mortifying Than Spelling My Name Wrong For $800, Alex".

It’s mad to think when he did this, smartphones were not with us. There was no iPhone etc and they had to use a camcorder, remember those kids? Vlogging was never heard of. 😂 At least him mum got to see him become a success before she passed away from cancer.

To be honest this was a real and enjoyable vlog etc thing. Unlikely new fake ones out there recorded from other people. Like who shows their family like that now?

Watching this in December 2023, before the his third special. It's amazing how... Much this will change his life. It's precious.

I grew up watching Tom Baker, so for nostalgia's sake I still am a Doctor 4 girl but Tennant channels his sarcastic silliness so well. And tbh he's a million times hotter so there's that.

Idk how but my lil heart was not prepared at all for that adorably hot face at 07:47 and even when it cut back to the shoot and then back to him I was like Oh hello again I’m sorry I forgot how beautiful you are. And just him at 10:12 and his smile... we’ll always, but specifically at 10:35 makes me grin every time. Thing is, I think the Doctor is the hottest role he’s ever done. His appearance has never quite compared imo. If he could maintain any look like a common bloke without having to worry about looking like a certain character, I wonder if he would pick that one. I feel like he should, but I’m just me 🙃

I can attest that the kids were very upset at the beginning of the episode after experiencing their first regeneration, losing their favourite Doctor and being extremely confused. And at the end of the episode, no longer upset and actually excited for the future of the show, because David Tennant's performance had won them over during the episode. What an amazing time to be a child.🥲

Ok, but did anyone else notice him doing the Barty Crouch Jr tongue thing around the 2 minute mark? 😂😂😂

DT renewed my childhood love (and fear aka behind the settee) of Dr Who! Absolutely loved DT’s No 10 Dr Who. In my opinion he’s the best and also the stories and cast worked perfectly together! Hard to grasp that this was in 2005, so much has happened to me personally and in the U.K. and sadly around the world. Right now in November 2023 I cannot wait to see the 14th Doctor Who return, but for me he’ll always be the classic No 10 🥰😃🙅‍♀️

Ahhh, my fave doctor! Followed closely by Eccleston. Its a pity the later doctors didnt have better writing and a different showrunner, i love them all as actors and they had sooo much potential as the doctor!

Yeah, they don't shoot in sequence. And once the series actually starts, it's even more of a mess. Matt Smith's first episode to film was Time of the Angels/Flesh and Stone.
