The Fender Deville amp is the hot rod with 4 speakers version that I use. The amp that I used in the 60's through the 90's for studio recordings was a Fender Princeton, and live it was a Fender Super reverb or a Roland Jazz Chorus 120. Thank you for your interest!

Revealing answers from a legendary musician... and then I see replies to the comments from the man himself! The internet is a magical place, and Mr. Walker, I'm grateful for your music.

Yes, I too like Willie Hutch, his Artistry. I was proud to know and work with him since the late 60's.

Oh...and while I'm at it, let me also say that one of my favorite performance is Wille's Hutch's "Mama's Theme" from THE MACK soundtrack. MAN! It stopped me in my tracks when I first heard it, and it still hits me just as I hard now as it did then.

Got to thank you for this insight. That is a very compact guitar. Definitely the type i'd favour over my hefty 1981 Les Paul Custom.(I was a lot younger back then too .LOL) The weight can cause a distraction from the playing. Rich blessings to you sir.

Greetings, once again, Mr. Walker! You mentioned using the Fender Deville as your go-to amp. I'm assuming these aren't the "hot-rodded" versions...or are they? Also these are the smaller Devilles with two speakers, right? Also, I was curious to know what your preferred amp was back in the 70s for both live and studio settings.
