There is uncertainty about how some player additions will perform, but the roster depth is definitely improved.

World Series favs in baseball is so unrealistic and holds absolutely no weight unlike other sports. In the playoffs anyone can get hot. It’s not like the old days where the Yankees were able to just buy all of the best talent and win championships. Every talented team has a chance.

Let the kids play. Let's see what we have with Baty, and Vientos. Alvarez is bound to be a star if he keeps applying himself. Mauricio will come back strong as well everntually.

Mets have been doing the same chit, over and over to no avail. They get a guy that is trying a different approach and everyone is crying.... At some point the Mets have to start working from solid ground, ie: stable leadership, core young talent to pick from, depth, as well solid defense and pitching. This seems to be the best approach, wins this year be damned. I would take a "this year as a step back" to get decades of excellence in return. LGM!

A championship team has an A class farm club and system. This team will not be a World Series contender this year and Stearns knows it. To improve from last years debacle, this team needs to hit and score a lot better. Never mind pitching which is a given, the Mets need to get much better production from their everyday players.

David stearns seams like a very bright guy and I think 🤔 the Mets will make the playoffs 🎉 let’s go Mets 😊

First season in forever that I was not excited about the Mets. This guy did nothing to improve the team. He brought in warm bodies not quality players. He’s going to get rid of Alonso next. This guy is no Mets fan like he claims he is.

This team is in a rebuild without them saying, but we all know that this team not making the playoffs, and he said basically they won't win the division..but make no mistake this guy is rebuilding

The guy knows exactly what the organization plan is for Alonso moving forward. My guess is ..... and i truly believe this..... that the playoffs are not a legitimate probability and Stearns knows it......thats why no big free agents were signed. Then Pete will get dealt at the trade deadline because they can get a nice return for him. They can blame the team for not performing and they'll tell the fan base that the trade was best for the future of the team. Blah...blah....blah.....i personally don't see how a team can lose him production and feel better about their lineup. The only way id trade him is if i could get an ABSOLUTE ACE starting pitcher with youth. This team needs one more power bat.....not one less.

be patient. this is his first year. we don't need another repeat of a billy eppler signing just anyone to please fans like you. stearns is taking a more patient long term approach to set up the team for long term success.@@tmondaro1

He traded Hader because the Brewers are a cheap organization that doesn't like to spend money. They were never gonna re-sign him in free agency. The next best thing to do in that situation is trade them so you ar least get something in return.

Ya know, I wouldn't care so much about the lack of spending if the Mets would just subsidize a Stearns nose job.

This is the first time ever that I have no respect for the team. They're a bunch of woke snowflakes that don't compete.

@@melioda9554 they have all the talent in the world, probably one of the most talented teams in MLB. They choke in pressure situations, and they don't care about winning when it counts. They need to play the way they did the first half of 2022.
