I love how Alan said, "You can always come home". I moved out at 19 because I was miserable at home, however my mother telling me "And don't think you are ever coming back" was like a knife through my heart.

I'm so sorry you had to live with that, I walked out of my home on the morning of my 18th birthday, just to get away from my mother, my dad had seen it coming, he couldn't stop it, over 5 decades later I lost my mum, as much as I hate to admit it it was almost a relief

I'm 70 and never had that experience. After a failed marriage in Mt 20s my parents welcomed me back. My 2nd marriage has lasted 35 years and going for 50. If my parents were alive my whole family would love to live with them. My parents loved all 6 of us. We're all on our own and mom would be totally excited to see how large our family has gotten. Wish everyone the best.

You can certainly tell that vocal talent runs in the family… he has a stunning voice.

Spent many hours listening to my older sister's Osmond Brothers albums back in the day & watching them on tv appearances was the best thing ever for preteen girls. The original boy band. Thanks for the memories, Osmond Brothers.

The Osmond’s are my favorite family of All time and I mean all of them. I watch them daily for inspiration, hope and to emulate. Y’all are gems and make everyone sparkle like the Heavenly Father. His grace is enough to win the battle of life no matter the challenge or circumstances we are dealt.

I didn't know anything about David until I think 4 or 5 years ago at my first MS Walk in Tacoma, WA. Such a genuine, kind person.

Loved your uncles and Dad since I was 11- now I love you!!! You're such a lovely and decent family. All success to all the Osmonds. Love you !!!

The one song I remember from Alan is He's not heavy he's my brother. Now I know Merrill was lead vocalist, but Alan brings this song home to what he's going through physically doesn't he?!

Osmonds= Great Singing. Love this humble family.

I got to meet the whole family in 1972 when they moved from LA to SLC. They all signed their album for me including Marie and Jimmy. So very gracious. Marie said to me Why do you want my signature? I answered because you will be famous also. Then they had their show that I watched every week. I didn’t know that they were struggling and suffering. God bless them both and their family.

It always amazes me when someone who has a famous family chooses to go after what he wants with no “inside” help. I’m certain that dong was about God getting him through the tribulations of MS, and he has that “Osmond voice.” The song obviously meant something to him, and singing of our God does my heart good.

Osmond voice? Are you joking. He couldn't carry a tune. always making the tune vibrate when it shouldn't have as he sung was a big let down. Listen to the original Osmond's from the 70's and you will heard that man can't sing after all.

He was amazing! He rivals any of the top idols- even though he made it to Hollywood, I think they were freaked out by who he is. IMHO

David is such a great person. Amazing voice just like his family before hand. He also happens to be my birthday twin. Exactly 20 years apart

I went to high school with his wife. She was and still is (Im sure) a really sweet sweet down to earth girl. David looks like his Uncle Jay.

I will never forget Donny talking 2 Tom Snyder when the interview was over tom thanked DONNY AND SAID ( AND YOUR SISTER ) Donny had the nerve to snap his fingers at Tom and replied ( and her name is ?) Tom Snyder of course said Marie Tom Snyder was an ICON Donny was a peon .. if you went to hear them sing in Branson of course they talked to you that is a meet and greet because they are way 2 old 2 be singing all of there songs from back in the day ! OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW GENERATION .. Lets see if they have the talent to make it on their own.

You also get absolutely no saying what songs they choose to sing. They can perform whenever and however they want to, if you don't like it just stop watching them. You are obviously obsessed with them, writing essays on their videos. Just move on. We are going to keep watching because they are so talented and are incredible people with a great sense of humor. I think they were put off by the name "OSMOND". They want unknowns and don't want to be seen as being partial. But hey, there are so many Osmonds and none of this generation has "made it". It would have been grossly unfair to dismiss his OBVIOUS talent. He certainly will have the work ethic.

i couldn't get my head phones off fast enough ! i thought my ears were going to bleed from his horrible voice !! and of course he got through because he is an ''Osmond '' i think he won't last long .. there will be a lot more people with a lot more talent !

he has musical genes from the family he really doesnt need the american idol show to succeed im sure he can make it on his own anyway when does winners of this show make it really big very few

He got kind of shabby treatment BECAUSE he's an Osmond. Simon and Donny we're on the same talk show once, Simon being interviewed first, and he made fun of Donny. When Donny came out for his segment he called Simon on it.

Had to be a 'one take osmond', as Marie said once.

That was weird. First of all. I like that he didn't try for any favoritism or say, "Oh yes. I am Alan Osmond's son who is Donny and Marie's brother etc..." He just said, "I am one of the millions." Could have been a distant cousin for all they knew. --- But then. They were so critical of him. He actually sang pretty good. Very good. But they still expected....Osmond. He was an individual trying to make it on his own merit on the show. But the judges still wanted to go beyond that. I thought he did well.

i would look into stem cell replacement. i know of someone who had ms diagnosis reverse itself.

Is this the only time David auditioned for American Idol? There are no other clips?

My mom had MS and she passed away from complications brought on by it in 2003. The crazy thing is my aunt was also diagnosed with it and my sister in law has also been living with it for like 5 or 6 years. They're all part of my family but not related by blood. It's such a horrible coincidence. They all were affected by it in different ways and to different degrees too. David and my sister in law are both really lucky MS research has grown in leaps and bounds over the past 10 years or so. My sister in law just gets fatigued every now and again and I hope David finds a treatment that works for him.
