I was at the Red Sox vs Texas game on June 11, 2006, game 1 of a doubleheader, it was like a movie script, the Red Sox were down by 1 and Ortiz had a full count and 2 men on. He just barely foul tipped the pitch before this, everyone at Fenway was pretty much expecting him to hit a homer in but it looked like he’d struck out. However he correctly knew that he foul tipped it and got another chance with a full count. Very next pitch he sent to the bullpen! The place went absolutely bananas it was pandemonium. One of the best sporting events I’ve ever attended!

September 12, 2007 was my first ever game. I was sat maybe 15 rows behind peskys pole (towards our retired numbers) I was 6 but the memory is so vivid. Ortiz had a 3 run homerun earlier in that game and the walk off was a 2 run shot. He accounted for all our Runs that day. We beat the Devil Rays 5-4.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! My sister in law a Red Sox fan like myself, got her, myself and my two brothers (who are Phillies fans) tickets to the June 24, 2006 game against the Phillies. It was Curt Schilling vs Brett Myers. It was Myers first or second game back after being suspended for domestic abuse and Schilling struck out 10. Now the Phils lead most of the game and my brothers were ragging on me about it and I kept saying, "just sets up for ortiz in extras." Mike Lowell hits a game tying home run in the 7th or 8th and then...well go to 9:14 to see what happened. my brothers were so mad "I dont know what's worse his ridiculous prediction or that it came true." I've been looking for the video of it for a decade now and it simply has been nowhere to be found

We owe a big thank you to big papi's father for going to the hall of fame in Cooperstown NY to touch Babe Ruth bat and state the curse is broken. To me by giving respect and be humble towards Babe Ruth helped to break the curse.

You'll have to forgive my hang ups on technicalities. But I believe that was October 18th and October 18th of 2004 with walk offs. Or did that 2nd game(which started at 5PM since it was a make up date and the NL played at 8PM) also end after midnight? Amazing series. Amazing player.
