Great shot son. A lady at our camp killed A buck past Saturday without His boys underneath. It was also still in velvet. We figured it had been drinking all that Budlight that folks here in south arkansas had poured out😂

Kansas here. Back in the latter 1970s, my dad harvested what he thought was a decent-size Whitetail buck (body wise), that had a small 8 point rack. Hunting strickly for meat, he was ok with the small rack. Anyway...we drug the deer to the truck and headed home to the farm. When we got home and went to gut the deer, we realized that it wasn't a buck at all! Yes, it had antlers. However it had no "male" genital parts... and had ALL of the "female" genital , including ovaries!! Fortunately his license was for "any sex"!

I saw one once where it was a doe with antlers, but they found some mountain oysters up inside it once the cleaning process had started. There was no way whatsoever I would have eaten the darn thing. I'm glad I wasn't the one who harvested it because it might have went to waste if I couldn't find someone to take it.

A friend of mine killed a 6 pointer from SC, and the buck had never lost his horns for at least 3 years, they had really rough velvet and you could see where they grew every year. We talked with the Game Warden as we checked it in and he said sometimes the Daddy buck will gnawl them off and the little buck is steril and the horns grow funky.

Clearly you have raised the interest of Micah's "Hunt For The Missing Nuts"! Just wait until your Uncle GrandPa Frank hears about that... a topic for the Holiday Feast this week! I can hear Frank's laughter now as he teases Micah of the Holiday's Hunt For The Missing Nuts becomes well known in you area, and through out all of Tennessee! lol You could end up with the most flavorful deer of all too. Nice looking carpet of Crimnson Clover that you have started for yourself Micah! Very pretty picture of the smoke gently wafting over the standing corn, soaking in the flavors of smoke, enhancing the future potential of raising smoked hogs on the hoof! Well Micah, time for a cup of coffee here, and as you go about your Hunt For The Missing Nuts, let's make this a Great Day!! -Bob...

I'd say probably a cryptorchid with undescended testes but if that's the case you'd find tiny under developed testes on the inside. Though they might be too small to notice i guess. If he didn't have any nuts at all he wouldn't have testosterone so his velvet shouldn't shed and he shouldn't fight and break the antlers. So I'd say he had something somewhere.
