The problem with the crown brand in America is that it's still using the regular Toyota badge. If it wants to distinguish itself and increase sales, it has to have a different badge - - the actual crown badge that Toyota uses in Japan would help... Alot.

Beautiful color combination outstanding fit and finish. I hope the world gets back to naturally aspirated engines… Great job with you and Kirk! Happy Easter to you both!🇯🇵🤍❤️

I wonder what people (not Dave and Kirk) have against wagons and why the term 'station wagon' is practically kryptonite in the auto business. Practically everyone who buys a small or mid-size SUV is going to do the exact same things as people buying wagons, like load up a lot of stuff, except it's easier with a wagon because of the lower loading height. And the lower center of gravity means it's safer and more fun to drive. Since 95% of SUV drivers don't go offroad, what's the point of having a lifted vehicle? I don't think visibility is that much better unless you're in an FJ Cruiser or Jeep. In my opinion, wagons just look better than their SUV counterparts. This Crown Signia is nice, but it'd be sleeker if it were lower. But they know that if it's not lifted, it's a station wagon and they're dealing with kryptonite.

David and Kirk, Perhaps you will be test driving this Signia in the next month or so. 🤔Without a Hybrid Max or Platinum option, I hope Toyota will be pricing the Signia to compete with upper end trims of the Outback. I would also reiterate my call for Toyota Canada to see the light and bring the more affordable Signia XLE to our wagon-friendly market. 🤞 The one glaring omission in this Signia is a 40/20/40 second row seat to facilitate ski bags etc. That handy feature seems to be getting rarer and rarer these days.

I just traded my 2033 Subaru Outback Touring (w/50k miles) for a 24 Crown Limited with macadamia interior. The Outback Touring doesn't even come close to the Crown as far as comfort, ride quality, build quality and technology. Subaru's technology is about 4 years behind, grainy screens and cameras...just not worth it. Crown, fir the money, is knocking on Lexus door.

The msrp of the crown will really determine how successful it is. Only 2 trims available, so starting is likely around $45k and fully loaded closer to $60k. I like it, but the price is really going to determine if I even bother getting one. Been looking to get an SUV, so we shall see.

From my understanding there is a PHEV version in Japan. I suspect if popular enough, Toyota brings it stateside like RAV4 Prime. However, Toyota says PHEV are much more difficult to make and they can make 100 hybrids for every 1 PHEV which is another reason why RAV4 Prime is so hard to get.

Love the less than 3 mm gap on the hood - It's great that they can get it out of the plant that way before we get the front apron separation like the IS 500 has, then the gap becomes about 20 cm! But it's OK, they have issued a LSB that has zip ties and glue to try and hold it although we already know it didn't work.

They should ditch the Crown Sedan and replace it with the Crown Sport. I think there's a market for both the Sport and Signia. Maybe give the Sport the Hybrid Max engine. By the way, I was at a dealer in Toronto and there's one trim Limited and an option for a Tech package.

The issue with the word "estate" is that it denotes a "station wagon" particularly a term used in Europe. Toyota North America had to drop the name "Estate" in favor of a new coined word "Signia" because of Americans' phobia of driving anything that is considered a station wagon. So weird but true.
