​@@repita21 Acting in itself, be it for theatre or camera is great! It's literally my favourite thing to do. But getting jobs (even unpaid) and making an acting career for yourself is incredibly hard. The business is unfair and a part of whether you succeed or not is based on luck (ie being at the right place at the right time), and rejection is a constant thing. But if you really love your craft, it's all worth it because, at the end of the day, you're doing what you love!

Just finished my first feature film hopefully it makes it into Sundance and other festivals ! To every actor reading this NEVER give up. Love you !

Acting is a really overwhelming job, especially if you want to make it to the top when you're currently under the sea level because of the country you were born in, anxiety and lack of confidence. Lots of people say it's all about the connections and being in the right place at the right time, well yeah, that matters as well, but I choose to think that hope and really believing in what you're passionate about is so much more important.

hollywood has been my dream for as long as i can remember. i made films with my siblings when i was five. my dad always told me if you’re not lucky, you’re not gonna make it, but this made me feel a lot more optimistic about it

This is one of the best, well thought out acting advice segments I’ve seen. Inspiring, but honest. It’s people like these, that make you stay in it because most people in the industry are a turn off.

Being an actor when your young isn’t necessarily the dream life though...not that I know anything about it but...I just mean like super famous actors have the pressure to look good, the pressure to whatever, and sometimes they even can’t handle it. And it’s worse if you’re a kid.

I kind of have to agree with you on that one. I know TONS of extremely talented actors that will never be famous. The people that are "famous" only account for about one third of the actors that are paying SAG dues. If by "The rest" you mean getting famous. But if that's how you define success you're mostly likely going to be perpetually miserable. I define success as being able to pay the rent by doing what I love more than anything in the world.

Glad you know what you define as success. So do I and it has ZERO to do with being famous. ZERO. It’s acting in major action films because NOTHING else compares or matters. It’s been that since I was 6. I’m one of those SAG-AFTRA members. A lot of discrimination exists against short people. A LOT. It’s got to change.

I love acting so much but whenever i try to tell someone about it I get embarrassed they ask me why i want to be an actor when i have such good grades and such a bright future ahead of me like how do you respond to that?

I would've asked Jeff Daniels how long it took him to just _memorize_ his famous Newsroom monologue.

I would ask him how it feels to be reading a Sorkin script because by golly Sorkin he writes dialogue which is very long and sometimes very fast paced. Jeff Daniels character in the newsroom was exhausting at times.

The best acting advice I've heard is that you should love acting so much that you would do it with or without fame...and I think that's really true and important. It should be the passion for acting, not the goal of getting famous and rich.

Don't let that stop you, not every actor is an extrovert, you can be shy and be confident at your craft. First step- join an acting class or amateur dramatics group build your confidence and get some experience. Just let your feet lead one step infront of the other in the direction your heart wants to go - don't let your head lead it will fill you with doubts about being too shy, too this and too that - don't let them thoughts take over they only hold you back in life.

When asked what the best way is for a young starlet to get into Hollywood, she answered “Take Fountain.” What?!? Driving on Fountain Avenue rather than Sunset, Hollywood, or Santa Monica Boulevards is a well known shortcut through the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

I really want to be an actor(like a lot!) but I’m shy and I just don’t think my family will understand how much I want this and I’m scared to tell them. I really want to tell them soon because I really want this and I know if I hold off any longer I won’t every tell them 😓

Ive been "mimic" acting since I was 13. Im 27 now. I wish I could do this for a living, but Im in middle of nowhere Ohio. I still "act" in my spare time. The very last piece of advice about had me in tears...

Darren Criss has so much wisdom for a young dude in this business, I wish they'd featured him more.

I agree with what Darren said at 2:10...Plus, learning a language or learning anything new when you make the choice to do so is much more fun than if it's a requirement for a university program that you're in. I also think it's cool/ interesting that even really famous actors who have been in numerous different things still get nervous doing auditions for things!!

I can't stop acting; every day, all the time. Even not onstage, I just love it and I can't stop. Wish I could move to LA, but... I just act. And I wish I could stop LOL

i’m not trying to act but this video just filled me with so much wisdom and i don’t regret watching it at all
