I loved the way Bowie sang his part, it really did sound like a Bowie song. Two of my all-time favorites. For those of you criticizing the performance: There are plenty of videos of Comfortably Numb you can watch, or you can just listen to the original song. This was something different from a legend who is no longer with us. You should try to cherish it instead of criticizing!

RIP David Bowie, Richard Wright, and David Crosby; 3 legends who have passed on to the great beyond in one video. Along with Gilmour and the criminally underrated Phil Manzanera, this is a collection of artists who have been extremely influential to me.

Gilmour's Royal Albert Hall dvd (which ended with the encores along with Bowie they're rehearsing here, "Arnold Layne" and "Comfortably Numb") is, IMHO, the best video recording of a Floyd-related concert ever on film, bar none. Superb musicianship and vocals, amazing cinematography (directed by David Mallet, who of course oversaw several video clips with Bowie) and it feels like it authentically reflects much of the Floyd heritage. Roger Waters' "In the Flesh", filmed a few years earlier in the Pacific coastal US, is the second greatest to me - similar qualities here, but a different tone and vibe. It makes a very interesting complement to Gilmour, because you really get to see the different facets of the band (Waters brings out more of the "everyday surrealism" factor that was a key part of their music).

I remember thinking seeing Bowie for the first time I saw that concert and thinking, "shit, this is what they should have done all along!" Nothing against Roger, but what a perfect replacement he would have been. Rest in peace, legends.

Bowie really doesn't write the kind of music roger does, and it seems they specifically were looking for a 'roger type' of which they are few and far between. In the eighties Bruce Cockburn comes to mind, but he also liked to march to his own drum.

What a pleasure to see Bowie with Gilmour and these other legends of rock music. With his distinctive voice any song that he sang on would end up being a Bowie song. As I type this on June 27, 2018, it has been nearly 2 1/2 years since his passing and will surely be missed. But, am glad that I can push a few keys on a device and hear his tunes.

*Richard Wright:* _"I was just absolutely blown away last night because in his part of 'Comfortably Numb', he just turned it into a David Bowie song. It was absolutely extraordinary. It was just wonderful."_ At last! Dear old Richard Wright finally back on stage with singing/songwriting genius. The first since Barrett ;)

D Bowie was so awesome in comfortably numb and arnold layne, he really fell into Floyd perfectly. I would have loved to hear Floyd do some Bowie stuff - Ziggy anyone.
