The Best of Me, Love Theme from St. Elmo's Fire and Love At Second Sight all get me everytime. David Foster is a musical genius par excellence.

Gotta add a word of thanks to You. Had a Date Night last night with Hubby. Prepared a really special dinner, candlelight, just Us Two. Wanted to play some low key background piano music during the meal (he's a bigtime piano player). David Foster is a close friend and a HUGE influence on him. Started out playing this set and he just fell apart. Wondered why. The Best Of Me. Love Theme from St Elmos Fire. Almost all these songs were so special to him. This music made both of Our nights. After many many years of being Together through the thickest and thinnest of things, We fell in Love all over again. It's been like that every Day since Our Wedding, but this special Date Night, something broke over both of Us. I credit the atmosphere this music created. Music touches the Spirit and Soul like nothing else. THANK YOU so much for making Our Night a Night neither of Us will ever forget.

Beautiful way to present beautiful songs. There's a chance to get the score? I'm curious, how do you develop the arrangement? All by ear or with help from some transcript?

Hi, the charts are partially taken from the David Foster Piano Books readily available in the market, but it is still mainly improvised away from the score. In other words, the chords are more or less the same, but the application and the actual playing are done improvisationally. If I were to follow note for note, it won't sound so organic. Also, I changed some of the chords to make it jazzier. Finally, the overall 'feel' is also changed to make it sound more 'intimate'. And that's the beauty of Jazz Piano. You have the creative freedom to change things around. Cheers. :)

@@NorthwoodMusicSG great response, I will take account on that if I try my own version. For my ears, Foster harmony it's all about classical music and seems to avoid any jazzy gestures. You incorporate just a little bit without damaging the overall sensation of melody, what is great. I live in a context where jazz are, from my point of view, over appreciated and it's common to arrange music subordinating completely to jazz principles, making bored, virtuoso-snob kind of music. Sorry for language mistakes, I'm Spanish native speaker.

Beautiful play and great recording. I hear a full and deep piano sound. Is it a Yamaha C series piano or digital piano?

Just missing the sax in Stealing Home. Otherwise very fine.

I'm wondering if these arrangements can be found in sheet music???? I find the other sheet music that is not specific to just piano is geared more to a group with vocals. These arrangements are so phenomenal! Eric Lee is wonderful!!!!!!!

Hi, thanks for your most kind words! This arrangement is largely improvised based off from the written scores and hence it's not found in common sheet music. Common sheet music is not geared for expressive piano playing, they are generally geared towards, like you said, vocals, or just plain piano comping. Improvisation plays a large part in bringing the sheet music to 'life' !
