As a grunt in the 80’s going back to Tidworth the only song that kept me going. The song that gave meaning.why we did it. Now older it was a waste but such feeling such a great song. You can feel the passion the depth of despair ....I was there....now we look to the east….is still there together we must stand with Ukraine …else it was all in vain..

Quite simply superb. Sends a shiver down my spine when I hear it. Saddens me that more people don't know about this album.I'd much rather listen to this and his other solo album than the more recent Whitesnake, which has become a pastiche.

I've been listening to rock since I was 13 in 1975. I had never heard this album until 5 days ago!! What a masterpiece! Just shows you how much there is out there.

Adore this..rest her soul but tawny kitaen said that Coverdale wanted to be a rock star when she met him.... well to some of us he always was...it didn't take the American dream to do it....I prefer this period of his work any day

One of my favourite albums, pity he sold out to the big hair Americana led mtv crap,this album and whitesnakes first 4 albums are far superior to what followed. Still fond memories of 77 to 1984 . Keep rocking brothers and sisters.

Agree with the other comments here - David's composition and vocal is just outstanding. There's a lyrical depth here that shows how great a talent he is. Aside the from the hard rock elements I am also hearing a strong Scott Walker influence.
