Good grief, i'm stunned even after all this time. Do you see how much he put his everything into "How Can I Be Sure"? So incredibly talented and yet underrated due to that "kiddie pop" image he tried to shake. But listen to those incredible songs by Tony Romeo and his cover of this great tune from The Rascals. They're truly solid remarkable songs. And David had one awesome voice to sing them (pay attention, singers using studio trickery). I wish there was more here, but in the meantime i'm celebrating his life today on his birthday. ❣

It's a crime that there's not a full concert recorded/released. It would be amazing to see a full show of his from this period.

That man had pure talent, both as a singer and as an actor. He’s just so sadly underrated.

His voice was always amazing. He was a natural. Never missed a note.And the tone of his voice. Smooth, sensual and sexy!

Thank you soooo much! You have no idea what it means to us fans that loved him as a teenager to see him in concert and in color! I saw him in concert in 1972 in my hometown. I was 14 than. This is amazing! Thank you again!

Did you cut the footage or do you have more of him singing on stage? Because while singing 'How can I be sure' it cuts very suddenly. If you have the whole footage of that song, could you please please post it?

Oh my . . . David was on fire when performing, a stage presence and charisma I have never seen before or will again. He still takes my breath away almost 50 years on. The most incredible sensual performer I have ever seen. He had the full package - absolute perfection! Will never forget you David ❤ forever x

I could watch the 70's live concert footage for hours! He was so adorable! I love his voice! Also, I think this is the best performance of this powerful song, How Can I Be Sure" is the best ever! Too bad the video cuts out before the song ends.

"Sm686" it is amazing that this footage is some 48 years old. Of course back in the 70s film or video or whatever it could be called was technologically advanced enough so that the images would be clear and vivid many years later. In fact there are films and movies that were made in the 1920s and 1930s which are still clear and vivid to this day, but footage of David Cassidy live in concert is rare (apparently filming of live concerts were not always done back then) and the reels or the videos or the film that exists looks like it was done with a lower quality movie camera of the time.

The quality of this video is phenomenal! Almost as if it was taken nowadays. Hard to believe this was almost 50 years ago.

As a 16 year old guy in Scotland with a girlfriend obsessed by DC, my hairdresser sister spent weeks replicating his hair style on me. I was lucky to have the right kind of hair, but getting that centre parting to stand so high and wide saw me going to bed with masking tape on slightly damp hair!!!!! Not my music, but he helped immensely with my hairstyle (and girls) lol.

He could really sing. So gorgeous. I was 10 back then and saw him in 1971 and in 1972. I will never forget those concerts.

David had such a powerful, expressive, smooth voice. He was truly a talent and a treasure.

@@christinefrench5223 Hey Christine xx Yes i was fortunate enough to be at both concerts , so what a joy it is to watch footage from the 70's, I dont know about you but they went by so quickly I struggle to remember a lot of what he sung, don't you think there must be footage of those concerts in the BBC Archives, if they knew how much money they would make if they released them on DVD I'm sure they would dig them out, don't get me wrong I love the later shows, but what I wouldn't give to be able to see Wembley and White City concerts again 😥😥 What do you think xxx

Great to see this Bill. Just today I was watching the video you did with David eating lobster lunch in Las Vegas. You both had a long friendship and I would love to see the interview!

Omg that was soooo good but when footage ended I was sooo sad as got to say he was fabulous here. Just most gorgeous voice.. everything about him. So sad what happened to him and that he was truly happy.. 😢

I was born too late to have experienced the Cassidymania, but I have to admit: the man had charisma. No matter where you looked at him, you get glued to his eyes from the first moment onwards. I can imagine why tons of teenage girls' rooms must have been filled with his images in this particular period.

He had so much talent. A really great voice and lots of energy and he was so great to look at. It's too bad he couldn't get outside his head. He always seems to be singing to a camera instead of just singing. I guess that comes from starting his career on a tv show where he had to always be posing and making facial expressions for the camera. I wish at some point he would have grabbed an acoustic guitar and just sang without all the theatrics and gotten away from chasing the teen idol days or his wish to be a rock star. I say this with love.
