"David faced his illness with dignity, grace and his customary humour. Even in dire circumstances. When he wrote to tell me he had cancer, he said 'the good news is I have my cheekbones back'. David, you were mortal but your potential was superhuman and your remarkable music is living on. We love you and we thank you." I Cried My Eyes Out.That was a tribute. So touching.Full of emotions and true love for David. Miss you terribly Duke..

+Des Slye Gaga's tribute was amazing as a standalone, strictly about-Gaga performance. It wasn't amazing as a tribute. Her pageantry kept the focus on her, not on David and his music, and she turned the man's death into a profit-mongering advertisement for Intel. It was very disappointing. I'm a little monster, I love her work, but I've been a bowiemian a lot longer and her tribute was not a tribute to David, it was a tribute to Gaga using David's music. With as much talent as she has, she could have conceived better than the commercialisation of David Bowie's death. The BRITs tribute focused entirely on David, didn't make a frivolous show of things, AND it included people who were actually close to David as well as allowed HIS BAND to play. Gaga's performance was entirely for and about her, not about David. So as amazing as Gaga is, her tribute to David Bowie was not amazing - it was a noxious mess.

As an American, I feel that the Grammy's should be ashamed! I understand that Bowie was British but the guy was a legend and his music was transcendent, plus he lived in the states for half of his life. I never watch these shit awards shows but as a Bowie nut, I figured I would watch the Grammy's this year for the first time hoping they would honor this man and they did not. Congrats to the Brit awards! Well done.

+erick medeiros No worries, the entire WORLD was disgusted and the Grammys were SHAMED for the disrespectful corporate advert The David Bowie tribute turned into. NO ONE in the music industry, his colleagues, the global artistic community, credible media, his friends and family, the massive global Bowie fanbase NO ONE endorsed it. EVERYONE has now expressed deep gratitude for the Brits PROPER and distinguished tribute to his CULTURAL LEGACY. Yes, they could have done even better, but THAT is the nature of corporate driven awards shows, it's all about profit margins and the core commercial demographic$$$

Someone's cutting onions around here... Bowie meant so much to me as an artist-from a young age, his music captivated me. I didn't always like or agree with his musical direction (it's a matter of taste, obviously), but he was an incredible chameleon, able to change and adapt with the times, and provide some truly unforgettable sound, and vision. I can feel them both battlin to get through their speeches smoothly and resepctfully without getting too upset or losing momentum. And given the length and passion of what they both had to memorise and then later deliver in front of such a huge crowd - and especially as this was so soon after David's death: it;s blody impressive. Congrats to them both and the awards could hardly have chosen a more perfect pair to present this.

I caught this last night and it was truly touching, tear-jerking, and extremely well done -- all of it. The words of Annie Lennox and Gary Oldman were straight from the heart. It was exquisite to see Bowie's band and Lorde on vocals for "Life on Mars." (I wish all that was on this video, but I'm sure it's on You Tube somewhere). David's homeland did him good. We'll all be crying over the loss of David Bowie for a very long time.

Wow, that is a fantastic tribute and a very touching gesture to David Bowie, both as an artist, a human being and an ICON. Beautiful, simply beautiful... Must be hard for both of them. R.I.P. dear mr Bowie.
