Right after the interview, instead of shaking hands, David Bowie embraced both my cameraman Mees van Deth and me. His relaxed generosity made a huge impression on us. In the early morning of January 11th, just half an hour before I heard the shocking news of Mr.Bowies death, I had a devestating nightmare, in which several elements of Blackstar played an important role. A strange kind of synchronicity.

I have seldom seen him so relaxed in an interview. It must have been fascinating meeting him. He is so modest and graceful here, yet the greatest artist we have had in our lifetime. I went to see the exhibition in Groningen just a couple of weeks ago, I live in Sweden. It was very emotional and I found it hard to leave. And - a lot of people have told about having dreams, feeling a connection to or having a sudden interest in him at the time of passing, just as you. That is so very touching, as if his spirit reached for us all. His spirit will always be with us.

The deep state can see through walls with infrared and target people with directed microwaves to cause cancers or heart failure. They took out Lennon with bullets. Not sure if they wouldn't take out a rock star like Bowie for their own reasons. With all the false flags from 9/11 forward and more lately using crisis actors -- and the Patriot Act and FEMA camps and so on -- seems like something is on the way -- the stuff of nightmares. They say Nibiru is approaching and the Neocons are preparing. Blackstar may be vision or portent of a coming dark cataclysmic phase. On the much more positive side, thanks for the interview and sharing your behind the scenes experience of meeting a great artist like Bowie.

The thing about Bowie was that if you let him lead the conversation into topics he was interested in and didn't try to trap him with 'scandalous' questions, it always resulted in the most interesting, funny, intelligent interviews. You can see how comfortable he felt here. The interviewer did an amazing job with keeping the right atmosphere. Also, the way he looked at Bowie and gave him his complete, undivided attention! I'm tepted to make a joke that this is like watching two people on their first date. :D

Agreed. The interviewer treats him like a human being and a fellow conversationalist, not an object of oddity and outrage as some others did. Fantastic interview, Bowie looks so laid back and comfortable.

Here, there is a softening of his sharp edges. Gorgeous, intimate interview.

This is unlike any other interview with David that I have ever seen. No stupid questions about changing characters , its obvious David was enjoying the conversation and the intelligent questions.

What a wonderfully relaxed, charming Bowie -- and I've seen a few. "They're not very straight, bit they're the only ones I've got" -- Ha! David's teeth were the best, change my mind 😂

OMG!! He's so charming here. Wish he did more movies. He was quite a good actor. From the short scenes I've seen him in the Elephant Man, he was great!! Very believable...especially without makeup............ RIP, Mr. Jones.

His vibe is very different in this interview, very relaxed

this is undoubtedly the most natural and endearing interview of David i have ever seen. your skills as an iinterviewer undoubtedly helped a naturally shy man to relax enough to offer honest and exceptionally vulnerable answers to some questions. you must consider yourself truly privileged \to have been in the presence of such a human being and humble star. thank you so much for sharing this gem of an interview and moment in time for you both. well done!

+Nevice Saad how lovely that he embraced you both. he really was a special, unfettered and unpretentious person. i never met him but he has been a constant part of my life through his music and his ideals. i miss him dreadfully. the world seems bland now without Mr Bowie's contributions. thank you once more for being real with him too and letting us see into his soul just ever so briefly.

He’s just mesmerising isn’t he. That voice. Very interesting interview that respects his intelligence. You can see how he’s a little shy at first but then he relaxes into the interview due to the interesting questions.

One of my fave interview of yours is with David Bowie. He looks so handsome in this, his blonde hair makes him look like a 1980’s leading man and tanned godlike rockstar. Bowie was an underground act operating in the mainstream.

I love watching Bowie interviews from outside of the US, and particularly European ones (although I think Americans Dinah Shore, Dick Cavett, and Flo and Eddie had good questions for him in their interviews). They seem like they were real conversations with people who were truly interested in what he had to say, even if he actually was promoting some work. He was so articulate, calm and thoughtful-and he had a lovely speaking voice. I could listen to him talk for hours. It's wonderful. I liked this interview very much. And I had to go into the previous paragraph just now and change every verb about him to be in the past tense. :(

The video quality is excellent that it looks like it's recorded in early 2000s instead of 1983!

Cracking interview, I think he would of loved the subject matter instead of the generic b/s he constantly got. Hats off to the interviewer.

The chemistry between the two is wonderful in this interview. You can see how much they actually enjoyed talking to each other, and it led to some great topics.

Dankjewel Cees. In een droom had ik als gewone burger een leuk gesprek met hem, haha. We hadden het over interresses en kwamen op architectuur terecht. Ik haalde Tadao Ando aan. Het grappige is dat ik laatst een foto van zijn koffietafel thuis zag en daar lag een boek van Ando op. Over synchronicity gesproken. Ik zag altijd de David achter de artiest Bowie. Bowie was zijn werk, de entertainer. Hij was totaal anders. Gr. Yf.

Cees, I read the other comments and find they are all impressed as I was with the sensitivity and intelligence of the discussion. 2 weeks after hearing of his passing I had a dream where he showed me this soft side he kept hidden. I written down if you want to read it. Since then I've been especially interested in finding evidence of it in his interviews.Seeing it almost for the first time here as he was in my dream I am touched, thank you for however you managed to magic it to life for us. You were also very charming and he was responding to you.

Funny to know that two small parts of your interview ended up on a Single Sided 7" Flexi-disc that was included in a fanzine "David Bowie Rotterdam 1983" that was given away for free during the June 25th and 26th concerts in the Feyenoord Stadium "De Kuip". Of course I've kept the disc all this time :-)

He would still be here if he wouldn’t have smoked for 50 years.You can tell already in 83 that he had a bad cigarette cough.But i totally understand.Stop smoking is pretty much impossible if you really put everything you got in to it.I have tried to stop for 17 years but haven’t been able to it’s just so damn hard even though it doesn’t make any sense to smoke because it doesn’t do anything except damage your lungs.At least you get a buzz from smoking weed but with cigarettes nothing.

I love this interview. David Bowie looking as handsome as ever. And I might add, The host, the interviewer, is looking pretty handsome as well. There's no doubt in my mind that there was a sexual attraction between these two lovely guys in this interview, you can just feel it and see it. They were most definitely flirting with each other in this interview. Just check out the body language between these two handsome guys in this interview and their tone of voice when they talk to one another. To be quite honest, this interview is pretty hot. This interview made me feel a little naughty. I'm sure they hooked up after the interview, and I don't blame them at all!!! Thanks for posting this video. I enjoyed it thoroughly. This is lovely, yet Bowie's reluctance of writing music for a film in which he acts is at odds with some of Station to Station's recordings' original designation as soundtrack to Man who Fell to Earth, as discussed in his November 1975 interview with Russell Harty.

Smoking is a mugs game.. So sad to see him puffing away, literally hastening his demise..

Misschien was het wel een fout en staat er perongeluk de verkeerde naam er staan wel vaker de verkeerde namen bij de verkeerde acteurs op het internet. Ik denk dat als je gewoon de naam van het karakter intypt en Het Huis Anubis intypt dan krijg je foto´s te zien.

mrengulfeddirector. Also he had worked with Paul Buckmaster in LA on music for the Man Who Fell To Earth. It exists somewhere locked in a vault. Some of it ended up on the Low album. I guess he didn't want to talk about it. bad memories?

I thought he changed his persona in every interview I saw. I didn't like him. He was self centred and attention seeking. He plagiarised so many but accepted the legendary status. He was an ordinary actor. He re-invented it is said; but he couldn't re-invent death

@@ceesvanede3398 I never professed I could; unlike that gents idiosyncratic statements. He changed direction like the wind, depending on who was interviewing him. A charlatan in my opinion. I'm certainly not stupid; and far better educated than Mister Jones, I assure you. The Let's Dance phase, brought him to the general public. He'd outgrown the use; of the arty type. He'd become David Vegas. It was detrimental, as his follow up "Tonight" bombed. He never fully recovered; and probably regretted it. His Tin Machine phase tried to recover it; and I liked that. However after that; he just was appraised, for his legacy. A greatest hits package indeed. He'd dried up. His last 2 efforts were bloody awful.

@@ceesvanede3398 Looking at your interview again, to see if I am somewhat stupid. I would say I'm not. I understand your behaviour towards him. Similar age group; just a few months apart. However like other interviewers before; or since, you get drawn in by whichever character he likes to play. Jonathan Ross, years later, was probably the biggest fan boy, however I'd say he's not that clever. I'll discount 🇺🇸 interviewers if I'm allowed to, for reasons I'll not say. (I might get a warning bla de bla) In this interview, he was soft and gentle, understanding David. Understating his importance. We tend to forget, do we not, he was high on something or other; before he met Iman. Don't be offended, that I think he conned you. After all, you are somewhat famous also. So perhaps I hurt your ego. What I've never seen from interviewers, is to challenge him. 1. Who did he copy? ((Syd Barrett etc up to Space Oddity) Syd being out of the way etc. 2. Why does he not give credit for his plagiarism? Instead accept false accolades, about uniqueness. 3. Why did Mick Ronson propel him to fame? (Because for years he was getting nowhere) 4. Does he think without Brian Eno, he'd not have progressed to the next phase? 5. Does he think he's a good actor, as most reviews thought he wasn't. 6. Why does he take over all his interviews, with various characters, not really listening properly. I'll leave it like that. But you get my drift. Nonetheless, I'll wish you a good day. 🇬🇧 🤝 🇳🇱

No, that is just typically Dutch. They say those words in their phrases. Doesn't really mean anything. It would be like Wacht ff, nee echt and oké luister. Just like in a natural conversation and David clearly found it amusing.

Words like that only have meaning in context. You can clearly see from David's reaction and mood that he likes the interview and feels relaxed. He does not look annoyed or surprised at all when these words are used. That means that he understood the intention of them in their context, but you did not.
