David Bowie - Heroes (1977) • TopPop
Музыка
Today, January 10, 2022, it is 6 years ago that unfortunately David Bowie's passed away.
To commemorate this great artist we remember him at the TopPop channel for his unforgettable visits to the TopPop studios in 1974 and 1977.
Also we have created a new David Bowie playlist. Watch it at:
• David Bowie
David Robert Jones OAL (8 January 1947 - 10 January 2016), known professionally as David Bowie, was an English singer-songwriter and actor. A leading figure in the music industry, Bowie is regarded as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. He was acclaimed by critics and musicians, particularly for his innovative work during the 1970s. His career was marked by reinvention and visual presentation, and his music and stagecraft had a significant impact on popular music.
During his lifetime, his record sales, estimated at over 100 million records worldwide, made him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In the UK, he was awarded ten platinum, eleven gold and eight silver album certifications, and released 11 number-one albums. In the US, he received five platinum and nine gold certifications. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Rolling Stone named him among the greatest artists in history and - after his death - the "greatest rock star ever".
This video was recorded in the TopPop studios in Hilversum, the Netherlands on 15 October 1977. Also at the occasion Bowie was presented gold records for his 'Low' and 'Heroes' albums in the Netherlands by Toppop presenter Ad Visser.

Just the 20th century 🤔
I mean seriously think about it. Punk was just about to happen. New wave was still in the not too distant future. But look at this man in 1977. A cooler human has never existed.

I agree. I've always thought Bowie and Debbie Harry are the coolest man and woman in music. They are the king and queen in the lyrics of this song.

Your queen maybe Debbie Harry but i don't think anyone can speak for whoever he was referring to as queen in this song.
Even after this period I can’t accept that Bowie is gone. Living in a world without Bowie depresses me deeply.

Don't be depressed! He left a huge history to us :') created so many characters, changed music as we knew it, shook the fashion world...he's in our hearts forever...and you can always imagine that he just left Earth on his spaceship 👍

Aaaahhhh!!!! I totally agree!!! I’ve been in love with him since I was a little girl, he’s such an icon and role model, I was able to embrace being different/eccentric thanks to him, and I think that’s true for a lot of people. 💖💖💖 RIP beautiful angel David Bowie 🙏🙏😢😢
Everything about him was asthonishingly otherworldly in such a natural way. His performances are my therapy, so healing. I miss him so badly.
A HERO ALWAYS,"NOT JUST 4 ONE DAY"🚶♂️💓
You may be cool but you'll never be "David-Bowie-lighting-up-a-cigarette-in-the-middle-of-a-song" cool :P

Beautiful Bowie
i got watery eyed because at one point, i felt as if he was looking into my soul while watching this. I remember how my father passed away when i was just 9 years old in 2009. I didn't shed a tear because of how rude and emotionally abusive he was to my mother. I never cry. but one morning as i got up for school, i threw on my old AC/DC tee, my ripped jeans and my big-haired wig, i put on some makeup after just getting out of the shower. I left the steamy bathroom to see my big sisters face (may she also rest in peace) she looked as if she were about to tell me the world was ending. i asked her what was wrong and she told me as she sat by our vintage record player/radio my mom got from the goodwill, every morning we would listen to AMPR news broadcasted from the northwest. "Im sorry" she looked so scared. "David bowie passed away" I was stiff. i walked back into the bathroom and cried all my blue eyliner onto my cheecks. it was strange because not only did my mother not find out about it herself, later on into the week, but that night, the stars stood out so differently then they usually do in Oklahoma. as my family and i sat on our porch and looked at the full moon and the stars, in a low-toned voice my mother mumbled "The stars look very different today" and i never tied that with it. I never put together the irony. My mom had no idea Bowie passed that day. She was the prime reason i loved this guy, all the way from the day back in 2010 when she brought home a dvd copy of the labyrinth...from now, and forever. To all the adults who grew up around that era, plese dont think for one second that there arent kids in this era who know what real music and pop culture is. ..sorry for the rant but this video just brought it out...
