Lyrics
Blue Jean, I just met me a girl named Blue Jean
Blue Jean, she got a camouflaged face and no money
Remember they always let you down when you need 'em
Oh, Blue Jean, is heaven any sweeter than Blue Jean
She got a police bike
She got a turned up nose
Sometimes I feel like
(Oh, the whole human race)
Jazzin' for Blue Jean
(Oh, and when my Blue Jean's blue)
Blue Jean can send me
(Oh, somebody send me)
Somebody send me
(Oh, somebody send me)
One day I'm gonna write a poem in a letter
One day I'm gonna get that faculty together
Remember like everybody has to wait in line
Oh, Blue Jean, look out world, oh you know I've got mine
She got Latin roots
She got everything
Sometimes I feel like
(Oh, the whole human race)
Jazzin' for Blue Jean
(Oh, and when my Blue Jean's blue)
Blue Jean can tempt me
(Oh, somebody send me)
Somebody sent me
(Oh, somebody send me)
Sometimes I feel like
(Oh, the whole human race)
Jazzin' for Blue Jean
(Oh, and when my Blue Jean's blue)
Blue Jean can tempt me
(Oh, somebody send me)
Somebody sent me
(Oh, somebody send me)
Somebody, somebody
(Oh, somebody send me)
Somebody send me
(Oh, somebody send me)
About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

When Bowie played the Paramount Theater in Seattle in 1997, he picked up a light and shined it on the crowd, just like in this video. We waived and hollered when he aimed it at us, up in the balcony. David Bowie shined a spotlight on me.

It is too much but! he was a god so he IS immortal. I was lucky enuf to see him perform in Vancouver. Peter Gabriel was the opening act. First Peter put the entire audience into a trance. Then David appeared and we bowed down, as we knew we would! before our god. Seriously gifted, his voice had amazing range and emotional nuances. Everything was carefully designed. The costumes, his moves, all choreographed in synch with the band. The entire performance was elegantly and expertly delivered. Yet his chatter with the audience was always self deprecating[!] and charismatic. Made us all feel like we were his guests. He was magical! A true artist! Rare and hard to define.

I'm a huge Peter Gabriel fan, and had been wondering if PG and DB ever collaborated on anything considering all their similarities, so it's awesome to hear they toured together! And yes, one of the most endearing things about David Bowie is his humility. He was so truly down to earth (considering he was Major Tom and a space alien and all) and had a great sense of humor. His interviews with Conan O'Brien perfectly exemplify his humor about himself and life in general. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gmiYmrOrgq3co6g.html Cheers!

By 1985, Bowie could have been a legacy rocker, playing his greatest hits and touring to pile up the cash (like the Rolling Stones et al), but instead, he constantly reinvented himself and his sound, changing his look, so that we never knew what we were going to get next. Bowie's music was ALIVE, a growing, living thing that continued changing until his death. Bowie's one of the greats and belongs in whatever pantheon exists in popular music. Bowie didn't follow trends; he made them.

Bowie' s Screaming Lord Byron is a wonderful mix of poetic Byron himself and silent era Hollywood idol Rudolf Valentino. Love his role as Vic too. Worth checking out the full video if you haven't already. Bowie is charming as both the rock star and the everyman boy next door role. Bowie is essentially satirising himself and it is brilliant.

I like how he parodies himself here playing an obnoxious fan with a girlfriend. And he actually stood up for the right causes. When he asked why there were no black performers on MTV the answer made him roll his eyes. He knew it was racism and that was unacceptable. MTV finally had to give in.
