"I've been working on holding my breath, right now I'm up to like 3 1/2 minutes." Six years later sets the world record at 17 minutes.

Different record i believe. The 17 was with pure o2 or smthin like that

This looks way older than 2002. Holy shit, looks like from the 80's, even the hairstyles and everything. 2002 was not that long ago.

The very closed cropped hair was popular in the 90s & 00s. Also good shirt is without much color and the style is of that period. 80s was all big hair, big clothes, and bright neon colors which is the opposite of what Blaine looks like here

David is socially awkward, that's what makes him seem so unusual and I don't think it's an act. He talks about his childhood and he seems to have been on his own alot from what he's said. I admire the guy overcoming his awkwardness using magic.

I dont think he's that socially awkward. He's in his own a lot and doesn't need much social conversation for sure (and he does start interviews super awkwardly going immediately to the trick), but nowadays first and foremost he's cool as fuck. Definitely overcame any deficincies.

I just think that's the way he views the world - David sees the world differently than we do, I don't think he seems awkward maybe a little different and more calm like a lower frequency but not awkward.
