In July 2015 I moved from Strasbourg, France to Sydney, Australia to study for a year. My girlfriend of five years left me after two months of being apart, and I became totally depressed. A month later the Paris attacks took place and made me feel even worse. A good Egyptian friend showed me this live set. The depth and melancholy of David's music helped me deal with my emotions, and I managed to climb out of that depression hole. After that year I lived in Montréal, Glasgow, and I now live in New York, with a girl I met when I was in Sydney. Life's crazy. Vielen dank, David !!

Pretty sick there’s a few of us in San Diego who listen to him! He was in LA few months back but I couldn’t see him. I saw Mark Knight at beach house on Saturday. Pretty good.

Honestly, I never post anything anywhere. But this damn set deserves it so much, it accompanied me through so much. Discovered it around 6 years ago right before I started studying. I swear in every study phase I've listened to this every day, many times on repeat, studying some stuff i didn't understand at all haha! David I give you credit for me achieving my degree and hopefully soon my second. Will listen to you till the very last exam is over. Pure genius. Edit: Second degree is done! Thank you David. Now I will have to listen to you in some work sessions :)

I never went to school, but when I started training as a chef I would listen to this before my 15 hour shifts to get me starting off work on the right foot..

For anyone looking for the 22:00 - 27:00 track: Here's what David August wrote on his FB page on July 10, 2014: "Regarding the Boiler Room tracklist: There isn't actually a proper tracklist. What the set contains is *mostly spare material*/edits of my studio work which I used sometimes in live sets and never released. But as it felt sad to leave this music in the darkness I decided to use the opportunity to play it. Nearly all tracks *will remain unreleased* as I think that this is the only way the set will stand for itself in the future. Thank you for all the nice messages and your great feedback. It's your appreciation that keeps artists alive and what gives us the irreplaceable energy and motivation to carry on. As so many others, I keep returning to this wonderful extraordinary set again and again. It kind of creates a community over time, doesn't it? Some of us have strong memories connected to this set. Some of these memories are memories of the past and some are yet to be made. Although this set is has become like a cosmic constant in our lives, it seems to change over time, but only because we the listeners change over time, also changed by the set itself again and again.

Like so many others wrote here before me, this set is really the soundtrack of my life. In 2015, after obsessively listening to it on repeat, I’ve finally went to see David playing live. I was in such a rough spot, seriously, if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have left my house, nowhere. Couldn’t miss the chance of him visiting my city. Ended up meeting my future husband at that gig. Call it fate or whatever, but good vibes attract good vibes, right? This is this set, this is David August. He literally changed my life. Like some magical, supernatural musical wizard. Forever grateful. Got a forever spot in my heart, just like this set does.

I birthed my baby to this set! I wonder if there's something that connects those of us who connect so deeply with this set. A sensitive soul, perhaps. A yearning for greater understanding of the beauty of existence. This is, indeed, a true work of art. If I had a time machine, this is where I would go.

8 years later and still one of my all times favorites

It’s been 3 years now since I started listening this set almost everynight before sleep. Best part is that I can listen it when I feel sad, happy, low energy or even during my workouts. Thank you, David for this masterpiece ! 🙏🏼

Very very smooth, he treats devices as instruments, no headphones ... a moster

I have been coming back to this set for years. It has to be one of the best ever.

With all the negativity on the internet nowadays, it's pieces of art like this mix and the communities/comment sections that spur from them that really show something beautiful about this era we're living in :)

I'm craving an intimate show like this.

Can't stop coming back to this set. At this point, I'm listening to this every single day.

Heard this set back in 2014 live on Fusion, it was one of the best moments in my life. Always getting goosebumps and I refeel the Moment. During the set it rained heavily and the sun came out, again and again back and forth. Sun, rain, thunders and random people hugging and laughing to each other enjoying every second. In his set he did not just control the music but also the weather and the whole world around us it was so magical. Thank you so much for this, I never had the chance to tell you directly! From all of us sharing this moment to you!

4 years later, this boiler room is still apprehended as a piece of art. Been listening hundred times and still feels it as the first time. Timeless piece of art, infinitely shining human's soul like a precious gem.

Met him once. Gentle, relaxed and focused person. Not the type of usual dj-„guy“ running after fame, money and girls but his creation of music

It's august/2022 and I still think this is the most brilliant live sets i've ever heard im my life. Thank you David for a such amazing hour of classy and tripping music. Love from Brazil.
