One of the best episodes imo was when Ed bought Ruth Anne a burial plot in a beautiful setting for her birthday and they danced on it together. I could not stop sobbing it was so deeply touching. My best friend and I often joked we would dance on each other's graves. Sadly she died a few years ago of a long term inoperable brain tumor, and yes.......I danced. Lovely video. Thanks Bill for this. I love it ended up being her final resting place.

I grew up watching television in the early 50's. 70 years on now & IMHO there's never been a better written, better cast, nor better performed series on television than Northern Exposure. No other series ever came close. All those quirky characters somehow fit together like a fine oiled machine. Thank you Mr.White for sharing this beautiful memory & homage of our beloved Ruth Anne (Peg Phillips).

Northern Exposure was one of the last productions that just entertained us without pushing an agenda. I can't think of a single character that didn't hit home with me. I actually think that show altered my entire thinking. Today I live in the mountains living out in a way like Northern Exposure made an impression on own reality.

How does it happen with some people, that they become fearfully handsome when they become older? It's so mysterious! I enjoyed every second of this video. The face and the voice of the actor, the landscape, the sentiment behind the said words.

Without each and everyone of you as actors , writers , crew this most wonderful experience wouldn't have been possible ! I've never hoped for a return of a show like I do Northern Exposure and with finger crossed , maybe we will all be back in Cecily by this time next year . Thanks again Bill !

Thanks Dave "Bill" ! I visited Roslyn 5? 6? years ago. So cool to get required pic in front of mural, sit on bench in front of Joel's office, and just be where it came from. It was morning, The Brick wasn't open yet, but workers at the back door asked if we wanted to come in and get pictures, we did, and it was great of them to offer! Camped at a state park north of town, and across the lake I saw a mountain ridge spur I imagined could be where Ed bought Ruth Ann's grave. Hope I can get back there, and would love to visit the exact spot, there where my all time favorite tv scene was filmed, I'd dance there for sure!

The only show I can say for sure had a therapeutic effect on me in this way. It was the writing and the characters that made the show great. Happily I own all of it on dvd so I can revisit Cicilly Alaska every now & then.

Same here too :) Every now and then, I feel like a child who needs to hide and play in a secret place where no one can find her. I want to run away from the city, the job, the people around me. Then I sit down and watch every single episode from the beginning. I am never bored of watching it, even though I memorized every line and every scene. I don't even want to share it with people I know. I don't ask anyone to join me, because they might ruin its magic for me. It is between me and the people of Cicely, Alaska. This imaginary remote town is my hiding place. Nothing bad can reach me out there.

I live in Alaska, and I love the show as much for when they got it right, as when they made little mistakes only Alaskans would notice. It takes me back to making minestrone soup with my baby in the highchair while the snow blew all around, and I watched this clever, sweet hilarious show. I still re-visit every winter. You guys gave us so much, Mr. White! I love it that she was buried in such a lovely setting, and that she got a chance to dance on her own grave! Beautiful! Many blessings to you!

too bad intelligent content is unwelcomed in tv these days, that's why reviving the series is improbable good to see Bill White, all the best wishes to him Northern Exposure keeps giving fun, and hope, and inspiration to its viewers, its everlasting value to the world, we are all sentimental about it, it's beautiful part of our lives by the way, remember people stay off alcohol, it's just not worth it, you don't drink from the bottle - the bottle drinks from you

Ya you could never make a show as intellectual as Northern Exposure was today. For one, the normal crew of the perpetually outraged would find 1000 different things to scream about every episode, but the country has been far too dumbed down to even understand the references to guys like Kafka, Dostoyevsky, Jung etc. Those references would just fly right over the head of 90% of Americans today

Wow, this is rather unique. Not too many people would do this at a graveside esp, considering she’s clueless to what’s happening anymore. The dead are soundly asleep. That’s a solid fact. But she really was buried there? Just where Ed said she’d be. That’s pretty sentimental. Dave enjoy your time there while you can. I’m impressed that you actually prayed 🙏way to go.
