Welcome to the Letterman KZread Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. The language may strike you as quaint & flowery, the clothing comically lacey & ornate - but that’s how things were back in this colorful and now bygone era.

It's a joke. And not only because of Warren. That's 90% due to that pos Wenner having a bug up his arse about Warren. But also the actual people that get nominated. Missie Elliot? Joan Baez? Oh ok. And sorry to say it coz we all love him but will someone please tell me what the hell Willie Nelson has to do with rock and roll?

This is emblematic of why I miss Dave nightly. Dave loves music and KNOWS music. When he loved a band or a performer he had on the show, he SHOWED it. He wasn't a cheerleader for any band who appeared, he didn't calmly say "The National, everybody." Example: When The New Pornographers performed, he walked over under the cheers and said "How are you, Neko?" He KNEW. So for him to know immediately The National's new album and its lead singer by name, it's the personal connection that I don't think anyone on late night has, or has had... I just love this.

Slade: an influence on bands from The Ramones to Nirvana, charting 17 Top 20 hits in a 6-year span in the UK, 6 of those songs reaching #1. But they weren't popular in America, so they won't be in the Hall of Fame. The Tragically Hip had 9 #1 albums in Canada and are absolute legends north of the border. But they weren't popular in America, so they won't be in the Hall of Fame. The Rock and Roll HOF jumped the shark many years ago, but I'd have a little more respect for it if it just called itself what it is: The Rock and Non-Rock Artists Who Had A Following in America Hall of Fame.

David, yes overdue on Warren Zevon and it does make the so called honor greatly reduced. If not hollow. There are many in the same circumstance of having been disrespected for so long. My personal disbelief and now resignation that he will never be acknowledged is Peter Frampton. I actually would have assumed Warren was in. It just goes to document how dishonorable the process and the responsible parties have become. I hope Frampton sees being ignored as a badge of honor considering how Warren as so many others are treated with the same shameful disregard. ☮️

Literally the whole point of most of zevons music was to make you scared so the fact that was one of the reasons he didn’t get in combined with the fact you couldn’t apparently dance to his music shows me how screwed the rock and roll hall of fame has gotten especially if the only music they’ll let in is new pop stuff that isn’t even rock and roll

Not only Warren but Jan & Dean too. Also why would they get Teenagers to judge Music Performers, Writers... from say 59-66 (Jan & Dean stopped by Jan's brain damage after a car wreck) or Someone from the 70's -80's like Warren ? That's like asking a Vegan to name their favorite Steak House. Thanks for all the wonderful funny years Dave !

Disappointed about Warren, but so great to see The Man, Barbara, and MARY!! (snappy jacket, Mary!) Love these episodes. (Who's the fella at the back desk of this sharp office?) I do think the guest asks unfair "guess who?" questions because they're impossible to answer! Sweet to hear Joanna's name, nice to hear about the birthday gift.

I'm working on my final chapter and I'll be rocking to the end. If Warren turns out to be the last artist I listen to on the way out, I can live with that. Or not. F--- the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

To be outraged by any RRHF “snub” is to implicitly impart credibility to the RRHF. There is none. So no “outrage.” If anything, one’s credibility is enhanced by not being in the RRHF.

The ridiculous RRHoF knows full well who they leave off the list is JUST as important as who they put in.They want the ongoing controversies and debates. Pay no attention to the termites who run the RRHoF! Music isn’t a competition …
