Lyrics:
Come out come out
No use in hiding
Come now come now
Can you not see?
There's no place here
What were you expecting
Not room for both
Just room for me
So you will lay your arms down
Yes I will call this home
Away away
You have been banished
Your land is gone
And given me
And here I will spread my wings
Yes I will call this home
What's this you say?
You feel a right to remain?
Then stay and I will bury you
What's that you say
Your father's spirit still lives in this place
I will silence you
Here's the hitch
Your horse is leaving
Don't miss your boat
It's leaving now
And as you go I will spread my wings
Yes I will call this home
I have no time to justify to you
Fool, you're blind, move aside for me
All I can say to you my new neighbor
Is you must move on or I will bury you
Now as I rest my feet by this fire
Those hands once warmed here
I have retired them
I can breathe my own air
I can sleep more soundly
Upon these poor souls
I'll build heaven and call it home
Cause you're all dead now
I live with my justice
I live with my greedy need
I live with no mercy
I live with my frenzied feeding
I live with my hatred
I live with my jealousy
I live with the notion
That I don't need anyone but me
Don't drink the water
Don't drink the water
There's blood in the water
Don't drink the water

Adding Elvis for me. Robert Plant even sang Elvis before concert warming up. He has one song that you would believe it's him. I'm old thank God
I love how every band member has their own distinct style yet they all come together in such a cohesive fashion like some kind of musical Avengers
@amolosnoventa

Agree. But without Leroi and Tinsley they lost that distintic and unique style.. that very unique sound... still love them, but no longer the same for me.
Get you a job that makes you as consistently happy as Carter Beauford’s job makes him
Dave Matthews Band has that magical ability to make their live performances sound better than the actual studio version of their songs. That is mad talent right there 🎶🎵🎶🎵

This is officially the greatest concert I've ever seen.
I love that we're all still coming back to this amazing concert video almost 20 years after it happened. - Why? Because it's that good, that special. The hairs on my arms still stand on end when I watch this bit of magic on stage. - DMB will always rank as one of the best bands in modern musical history, in my book.
That still gives me the shivers 17 yrs later

Absolutely love Carter's face after Dave's insane vocals at the end. You can tell they love each other's craftsmanship every concert
At 6:07 the look of pure joy on this woman's face makes me watch again and again!
4:39 is probably the most passionate scream I’ve ever heard... quickly followed by that huge soaring yell. Dave sounds like a barbarian world at the end. Such a powerful voice.

This has to be the greatest opening to any Dave concert. I haven't seen them all but it's hard to beat this. The very first few seconds from just quietness to full on horns was amazing.
It’s so refereeing hearing (and seeing) a performance that’s more about the musical connection of the band than it is about how crazy their outfits or dance moves are.

Who is gonna be dancing with me at Saratoga next summer???? I CANNOT WAIT FOR SUMMER 2021!!!!!!!
Always find myself coming back to this performance. The sound is insane, I miss the sound of leroi, boyd and butch. Something about Dave’s performance is just so powerful too - opening such a huge concert the energy is electric, the way he moves back and forth from the mic hitting his foot. SO much energy and then the build up to ‘I will BURYY YOU’ and ‘MOVE ASIDE FOR ME!’ The look on his face. Ahhhh. And to top it all off…. The outro verse, gives me chills everytime they go into it. I’m yet to hear them do it in any other live version. Just fkn unreal. Un. Real.
Dave Matthews just doesn't run out of energy. I bet his family had their hands full when they were rocking out to his childhood jams.
Now as I rest my feet by this fire Those hands once warmed here But I have retired them I can breathe my own air And I can sleep more soundly Upon these poor souls.....
Sooooooooooooooooooo fucking good live. The band is fucking amazing. Very lucky to get such a bass playing prodigy.

Saw them last night in Warsaw,Poland. Their second ever show in Poland. AMAZING BAND!!!
I think this is my favorite DMB concert... he opens up with a banger and the rest is history 👋 👋 👋 👋 .. Maybe it's bc i live in NY...
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water..... The blood? Without the atoning work of the blood of Jesust Christ than the Gospel message of God's word is of no effect.... Satan's greatest fear? For one to "drink in" the gospel of Christ,, for the blood of Christ saves man from sin. It can not be any more clear.

Please people, DON’T DRINK THE WATER! Dave ain’t lyin’.
This is my favorite version of this song. The full version, with the slow build up, to be shattered by the powerful drop by such talented musicians....amazing!
I used to listen to this song, after my brother bought me the DMB live at Central Park, on repeat. That part "I'll build heaven and call it home" breaks me to this day, and i haven't heard this song in 2 years. I'm actually in tears typing this
@Winteramen

After obsessively playing this song the last couple of days, i realized when i was 15, I'd completely overlooked the lyrics. This song is about colonization, isn't it? First verse speaking of hunting down the indigenous people. There's only room for me, no room both. Second verse, is kicking them out. Away away you have been banished. Your land is gone and given to me. Pre-chorus, what's this you say, you feel the right to remain, then stay. I will bury you. What's that you say, your father's spirit still lives in this place. My God, I'm so happy that i rediscovered this song at 27 and really listened to the words. It's so much more powerful than I'd even thought before.
One of my favourite live performances ever!
We need Boyd back! He was such a detrimental piece and look to the band. That huge smile when he starts really rocking was just priceless. Still love them today and see them at every NY show I can, but damn I miss seein Boyd up there. Leroi too, but, we can't get him back.
Top of their game
I'm 64 years old, and I've never been to a concert. Always just too damn busy. If I ever break that cycle, it will be for DMB
Damn I forgot how good this version from Central Park is!! 🔥🔥🔥
Unreal that they do this song, this good, on this island, in this time, & the irony of the lyric "Your father's spirit still lives in this place" like literally right where he is standing on Manhatten Island, the multi-layered meaning is boggling me lol
What a performance!!!!
