Being a man of similar age to Dave, it's always been my position that my younger opponent in a fight is in a no-win situation. If I beat him, everyone will say that he was beaten senseless by an old man (no fun in that). And if he beats me, then everyone will say that he just beat an old guy senseless (no fun in that either). This strategy has saved me on several occasions from being beaten senseless.

I don't profess to know the man personally or what either of them are capable of since that would be utter foolishness and extremely ignorant. Another thing I don't do is allow my political leanings to determine whether or not I believe a person is able to defend themselves or not. You clearly feel some type of way about the guy and it don't take much concentration to realize it's political in nature. And I certainly don't berate grown men I've never personally met just because I don't hold their views since I'm a 40 year old grown man, not a 13 year old little boy. I'd like to think my mind's progressed since middle school days and I've become able to have disagreements with people without hurling profanities at them. Some people are just children trapped in adult bodies though, so I get it. Most people are like you unfortunately.

Johnny Carson's Head Writer, Ray Siller, twice tried to get Johnny to hire me as a staff writer in a year. I was personally passed over by Johnny both times. As much as I loved Carson, I'd have been even more honored to be passed over by Letterman. :D
