Who is Dave Grohl? Dave Grohl is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known as the drummer for the rock band Nirvana, and as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the rock band Foo Fighters, of which he is the founder and longest-serving member. He has also played drums for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Queens of the Stone Age, and many other bands. Grohl is considered one of the most talented and successful musicians of his generation and has won multiple Grammy Awards throughout his career.
How did Dave Grohl's career start? Dave Grohl began his music career in the 1980s as the drummer for the band Scream. He joined Nirvana in 1990 and helped the band achieve worldwide success. After the death of Nirvana's lead singer Kurt Cobain in 1994, Grohl formed the Foo Fighters as a one-man project and released their self-titled debut album in 1995. The album was a commercial success and Grohl continued to lead the band as primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, solidifying his place as a respected musician and front-man in the rock music scene.

Dave is the biggest G I’ve ever seen. He tackles pain head on and grows from it, when most people would back down and give up
I want to give Dave a big hug for being this person, encouraging, kind down to earth and mentoring us. I am the biggest roadblock in my journey self doubt challenging self esteem a ongoing journey. So someone kind beautiful person who encourages us and creates beautiful music, I’ll always be grateful

Dave totally inspires me. He keeps saying that if you want to play music in front of people, and do it - then just fucking do it. I’ve played music since I was 5. I started playing classical piano and cello and then started teaching myself guitar when I was 14. But I had convinced myself that I couldn’t play guitar in front of people because there were two times when I froze up when I tried to do it. But then in 2019, I decided “fuck it” and went to an open jam. From there, despite a break due to COVID, I’ve been in 3 bands. I’ve played gigs in my area. I now run open rock and blues jams. I suddenly realized that no one is going to come to your house and invite you to do what you want to do. You have to go out and fucking just take it. That’s what I’m doing, and it’s partially because of this guy.

Hi Simon, I recently started going to a few places who host “open mic” which I’m sure is the same as open jam. In my area, a coffee house called the night owl and others will have sign-up sheets when they open. Put your name on the list and when your number comes up you go on stage jam alone or with your group. There’s a ton of great talent and everyone is very supportive of one another. Look for coffee houses and pubs in your area.

@@christinelikeschrysanthemu9423 This is a great tip! Our open jams are a little different than an open mic. We have a Dropbox folder where we put the songs we’re planning to play. I put a link to that folder in the Meetup event. Then, everyone sets up in a circle and we go around, giving each person a chance to pick a song. They can sing it if they want to, but they don’t have to. We’re in Maryland, but there are lots of open jams around. Ours is an electric rock/blues one, which is a little more unusual, but there are tons of acoustic ones out there. Lots of bluegrass jams too, especially in western Maryland and West Virginia!
One of the most versatile and talented musicians in the history of r'n'r - Dave Grohl. Spiritual fireball 🔥
The only famous musician without an overinflated ego. He’s awesome.
Dad ended his life back in 1983. The night before he took his life he said to me, "Don't let people use you." It was the only wisdom I remember him sharing with me. Ever since that day I've felt I let him down. I hope you remember your dreams, sir. Be blessed. 💝

Well, you're still here. You can't really let someone down when they let EVERYONE in their life down. My brother-in-law died @ the age of 27 having a wife and 2 small sons.He died fighting cancer. Fighting to live. They remind me of him. He would've done anything to be here 30 years later. Perspective.

@@travzimmerman1340 Dad was a man of few words. He only had a grade 6 education. But he was a hard working man so his actions spoke inspirations of strength to me. His lungs were damaged by the chemicals from the foundry. And before his suicide he had a hard time going up the stairs without losing his breath. Things got really messed up after that when mom lost her mind and told me dad wanted me to stay home because dad was going to kill us. I think Roger Waters once sang, "Mother do you think they'll drop the bomb?" #LoveofWisdom
When i see Dave everytime he make me feel like everything is easy and cool.
Last night in my dreams I brushed up awkwardly and by accident against a man who looked slightly like Dave Grohl, and it felt a little sparkly. The man who looked similar was an environmentalist or an ecologist working with a group of friendly and awesome people relocating snapping turtles from the roadside. This video makes me an even bigger Dave Grohl fan. I took a very similar music career path as him playing in bands as a drummer, then realizing that I could write whole songs. Now Im a songwriter with industry representation and I cant wait to see the places that my music takes me! =)
Man I need to collaborate with Dave.
🙏❤️
It would be so awesome to see him dance to Gangnum Style.
Indeed, you shouldn't be intimidated by your heroes, you should be inspired by them...unless of course they are heroine addicts, they have a dark reputation, known for letting people down, known for short term relationships, have a reputation of friending people for short-term personal gain then discarding them like warn out socks when they've exhausted their value. Absolutely be inspired. But don't think you are any less valuable in your own right. When in fact it is you that gives them life, not the other way around.
👍!
Who here wishes Dave was their friend? I certainly do.

Yeah, I mean in my mind I can see he and I just hanging out just like two normal dudes, drinking beer and talking about music. To me, since he’s been in the game so long, he’d be a mentor. Gotta love Dave’s personality too, he’s smart as fuck but creative, witty and funny
Transitions between the clips and narrations feel a bit off sometimes (maybe a little fade in between the Two tracks could help), and the clips are repetitive sometimes, to my liking. Besides that, cool video and great content in general. Thank you for the vids, mate! ❤️
Glad you're alive G
♾💎✨
My favorite Dave Grohl story is when David Bowie told him to fuck off.
Dave Grohl is an amazing human being 👀
With those glasses Dave reminds me of Eric Clapton with long hair.
Going down the path of wisdom, I hope you realize it's really God because you are almost there man.
Don't want to get too philosophical here but there's actually a law behind what Dave shares here... and I for one believes it because I've seen it working in my life ALWAYS. It does not deliver in ways that we expect or immediately and that's why so many people get discouraged and enter the cycle of trying/giving up (generally too soon) If there's one thing I will tell my children (if/when I have them) is this: it is very easy to convince yourself that you can't be or do something, in fact that's the easy way out. It's powerful and final for most people.. But, like Dave was saying, there's the other side of the coin too and it is as powerful and as final as the one that keeps saying "NO" to you. It's really as simple as which one you decide to stick to. The "LAW" I'm talking about is that the Universe responds to both equally... ;-)
We should put Dave and Eddie Vedder in little pots and preserve them forever, they are true dads in the rock planet.
