In 1974 Dave Edmund’s was in a film stardust with David Essex Kieth moon Larry hangman and many more and the fictional band was called the stray cats , .

I really like this rock a billy take ...wonder what George Jones thought of this cover ? He must have known down deep he had some rockabilly in him.

You forgot to say - “In My Opinion”, cause music is subjective!. This is indeed a great version but Dave is performing the lead vocal almost identical to George, even his phrasing! And you know they always say, if you can’t improve on something, leave it as it is!

I look at them equally...I enjoy all three versions...but George Jones is George Jones...I like Chris Stapleton's version of Tennessee Whiskey more than George's, but without George's version there wouldn't be Chris'.(IMHO)
