Lyrics
How the time passed away? All the trouble that we gave
And all those days we spent out by the lake
Has it all gone to waste? All the promises we made
One by one they vanish just the same
Of all the things I still remember
Summer's never looked the same
The years go by and time just seems to fly
But the memories remain
In the middle of September we'd still play out in the rain
Nothing to lose but everything to gain
Reflecting now on how things could've been
It was worth it in the end
Now it all seems so clear, there's nothing left to fear
So we made our way by finding what was real
Now the days are so long that summer's moving on
We reach for something that's already gone

I will be going to see, listen and meet Daughtry and his band in Waukegan, Il. on 9/11. It is my present for my recovery on being able to walk again. I had tickets to go see Daughtry in March of 2020, but I was in the hospital after my second surgery. Where I lost the ability to walk. One and a half years later. And I am walking, with ah stagger. Unassisted by cane, walker or chair. I can't believe it. The doctors sat across from my bed and told me. I would never be able to walk again. It goes to show you what strength our minds have. When we need to focus on something that is important. I am excited, thrilled and just can't wait!
Its 2022 but Im still here man!
I miss you dad 💚R.I.P thank you for everything you ever did for us💚
My playlist is full of Daughtry albums and I listen to them everyday before I go to bed. I don't understand why he doesn't receive the recognition he deserves. A talented artist...pure vocals and live instruments.

Chris Daughtry is such a good wholesome dude with just pure talent pouring out of his soul! Every song this man has put out is outstanding, and it's been hit after hit! He's way too underrated in my opinion!! I know many of his songs have been on the radio a lot, but he still hasn't received the high credit he deserves! He should be winning Grammy's!! And not only all that...he's still married and committed to the same woman and still loves her just as much as the day he married her. He truly is a wonderful husband and father as his wife claimed in his Idol audition video. He continues to prove that after all these years. The second he opened his mouth to sing on Idol, I knew he had it, and I knew that he was destined for stardom! I just knew he would be huge even if he didn't win, but I still will say he should've won hands down! Regardless, Chris Daughtry is always gonna be a winner!! I hope I get to see Daughtry live in concert one day.
I just don't get how a band can be so epic! Like how is it even possible lol?!?! Song after song is just amazing!! Been my favorite band since the first album!! Deserves so much more attention than he gets! Long Live Daughtry! Thumb up if you agree

This song is unbelievably nostalgic, but it gives me a kind of nostalgia for a time I never had. Talladega by Eric Church does the same thing. It brings up the feeling of having missed out on something I can never recover.
Every time I hear this song. I get teary-eyed. Lot of good memories.

Chris Daughtry will forever remain one of my favorite Artist - been a fan since American Idols - listening all the way in 2020 from Namibia
This song hits home for me on a personal level. December 2002, I was 9 years old, my grandmother & I moved into a 2-bedroom apartment in Upland, CA. About a year & a half later, my cousins moved in so then she was in charge of taking care of 3 crazy boys by herself. While there, I made the greatest friends & memories. This was long before tablets & social media took over. We would come home from school, do homework & play till it was time to go inside. We’d wrestle on the grass, play tag, go to the liquor store with our allowance, go to each others homes in the apartments playing video games & eating snacks, & get into so much trouble. Like they say tho, all good things come to an end. My cousins & I had to move out of the apartments because my grandmother passed away from heart failure in April 2009. Even though it was a sad ending, I had the best 6 years of my life while there as a kid. Even though we’re all grown up, I still see my friends when I can. Two of them moved to Texas but we still talk. My two cousins have families & I got approved to go back to living in the apartments I grew up in as a kid, to have my own family. Things have come full circle. “Reflecting now on how things could have been, it was worth it in the end”

The saddest part of life is when the person who gave you best memories became memory. It's worth in the end........ 💔

Not really but I guess they were a part of your life so I'll always be a part of your memories I guess
September is here. Feels right listening to this.
still love this song in 2023
I can honestly say this song is one of the only few songs I heard that *_EVER_* made me cry. To me, this song talks about Growing up and Reflecting on past memories and enjoying every moment of your life before its over. Its so true because I remember just like it was yesterday when it was my first day of Kindergarten and being nervous to leave my mom and dad’s side because I was too nervous to be alone. And in the blink of an eye, im a college student with a job making a life of my own... Its hard to believe how fast 15 years can go by, and its scary. 😔 To whoever is reading this comment, enjoy life to the fullest. Life passes right before our eyes and we wont hardly notice it until its over. Make friends while you still can, continue to make unforgettable memories. Give your parents a call and tell them how much you love them. Nobodies young forever...Because before you know it, we’ll all be old and grey, looking back at all the things we did throughout our years of living. And we’ll be happy knowing that all things we did made our lifetime the most memorable, and unforgettable 💫 “The years go by, and Time just seems to Fly But the Memories Remain...Reflecting now on how things could’ve been it was worth it in the end” -Daughtry
In the middle of September, it was worth it in the end. Jeebus, I wish we had kept those promises. Now all we have is our memories, reflecting how it could have been. Thanks for ripping my heart out, Daughtry.

A. Milo because they don't know him believe they have never listen to his song. Judges only listen to crappy pop music.
it's almost September.. Playing these last days August 2019.
From the get go, Daughtry pulls you in -- like the song you have always known & loved even if you never heard it before. He is so great. Deserves more recognition as one of the BEST ever in Rock.
