After the passing of her son, I think she lost all will to live but tried her best to be strong for her daughters. A truly heartbreaking ending for Lisa Marie. Thank you Dr. Grande for this look into her life and the difficulties of growing up in the shadow of her father.

I lost my daughter to the same as Benjamin, the same year and roughly same age, you do lose the will to live in the days/weeks that follow one’s child taking their own life, you do have to keep living for your existing kids (I had 5 more kids) I fear in lisa-Marie’s case, she already had so many things she was dealing with since childhood she just couldn’t do it anymore.. her heart gave out. I’ve had a mini stroke and heart pulpitsions due to my loss.. it wouldn’t surprise me if all her grief and pain (and the drugs) took its toll on her precious heart.. rip lisa-Marie, us mothers are often called survivors of child-suicide, lisa-Marie didn’t survive. Bless her heart.

I've been thinking of Lisa Marie Presley lately due to the news of her death. It would seem she won the life lottery, but I think her life was more of a curse than anything. She went through a lot; her father's early death, the suicide of her son Benjamin, her own health and addiction struggles, and her dissolved marriages. I always admired her "edgy elegance ", her fashion sense, and her tenacity. I hope she finds the peace that eluded her in life.

I believe that she did indeed have a stressful and traumatic life. She had her father for only a few short years, then suffered from a vicious drug problem. Finally, the loss of her son would have been soul-crushing, something from which she could never truly heal. May she rest in peace 🕊️

Sad. When I read that she hit rock bottom with drugs and then "walked into the church OF SCIENTOLOGY and said "help me," I realized this girl never knew a normal life. She said it as if it were a normal church or a mental health clinic. Celebs live in totally detached fantasy worlds which can be good or deadly depending on their ability to handle wealth/fame. Addiction truly is a heritable disease to a large extent & I'm sure losing her son put it over the edge (like Anna Nicole).

Whatever age you are when you lose a parent, it's traumatic. I was almost 50 in 2021 when I saw my dad lying on the ground surrounded by paramedics who tried to revive him, but unfortunately couldn't. "Don't you leave us, Dad! Come back!" I was saying. But he was already gone. Died suddenly. He had been fine that morning, talking about how his eldest grandsons were turning eight the next week. He was looking forward to celebrating their birthday. His death hit the three older grandchildren hard (they were almost eight and five), but the two youngest, three and almost two, didn't understand why Granddad wasn't there anymore. "He's in a special place" they were told. At least none of them were there when it happened. The older boys would have said: "Something's wrong with Granddad!" The younger boys would have said: "Granddad's fallen down! He won't get up!"

I don’t know for certain if Lisa Presley was abusing drugs or alcohol before her death, but perhaps she suffered from “broken heart syndrome “ since the death of. Her sun. It’s a real condition and that, her family history and her possible addiction to pills and /or alcohol , could very well have led to her premature death at age 54. I didn’t know her personally but we are the same age and I lost my father at age 9 also - I’ve always felt a connection to her for that reason ….. making light of her life and death with song quotes was jn poor taste Todd Grande . Often you have a dry , witty sense of humor but this time , it just wasn’t funny.

I remember in the 70's seeing her on TV at Graceland riding her mini golf cart. The staff would laugh at how she would manipulate them. She was absolutely idolized by her father who no longer wanted to sleep with Priscilla because she was a Mom. Elvis had a lot of hang ups and spoiled her. When she inherited the money and ended up using drugs as young as 13 then living at the Scientology Celebrity Center, I felt she would have a difficult life. She missed her family. Her coping mechanisms with food and drugs were substantial and became a battle she could not win. Losing her son was the last devastation. I remember when I read of his suicide I'd thought it wouldn't be long for her. She blamed herself for her sons death. There was so much tragedy in her life that was not touched on here. The horrible thing you do when you spoil children, is create a false reality. They hit the real world and either become depressed or narcissistic. In Lisa Marie's case, she was the former, depressed that her life peaked at 9 years old. The fairy-tale suddenly became a gilded cage, from which she never really escaped.

I own all her albums and absolutely loved them all, she spoke to a lot of the anger and hurt those of us in our 20s during the 2000s felt. When I was a lil kid due to my mom being a fan I was a fan of her fathers music as well, but honestly given a choice between her music and her fathers I much preferred her music. She had talent, she was more talented than the pop stars out during that time and today in that she personally wrote nearly all the lyrics and melody on her albums, which is something her father never got into he only sung and played a lil guitar. She was still young, I think it really broke her heart losing her son to suicide in the summer of 2020 and she never fully got over it even thou she still had three children to keep living for. I also think there's just something in Elvis' family line going back to his mother, himself and even his father all died really young. It's sad all around, I hope when Lisa passed that her father and son were there at heaven's gates to welcome her home to eternal peace. My thoughts and prayers to her mother and daughters.

I know quite a bit of Elvis history, but still found your analysis not suspicious at all in my mind! It was very informative as usual and I am impressed that you were able to intertwine eight or so Elvis classics in your narrative. It will be interesting to find out what the autopsy shows and I hope for the best. I know drugs is one of the causes of sudden cardiac arrest, factoring in the way she looked at the Golden Globes. Thank you, as always, Dr. Grande.

I think that Lisa Marie died of broken heart syndrome - a type of cardiomyopathy (damage to the heart muscle caused by inflammation due to chronic anxiety and chronic sadness AND her previous use of drugs and alcohol which are harmful to the heart when used excessively) She showed the subtle signs of cardiomyopathy at the Golden Globe awards - people saw how she was sluggish , had slurred speech , and lacked coordination in the way she walked (signs of a weak heart pumping limited blood supply to her brain 🧠 )
