Datsun 240z Rust Repair And Battery Tray Replacement | 1971 Datsun 240z Restoration

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Tackling the rusted out battery tray in the Datsun Build, I ordered a replacement battery tray from ZCarDepot and was pretty happy with the quality and fitment.
We're slowly making progress on the Z and can start knocking out some more of the fun parts of the build soon.

I always find it wild most people find time to watch the KZread, but then don't take the 3 seconds to give it a thumbs up or down so the youtuber can see what works and what doesn't. 😁👍

Haha yeah I notice that people seem to be very stingy with likes on all kinds of videos, it does make a big difference for KZread too and helping out the channel.

@@DirtyGarage yup. Makes no sense to me for people to watch and enjoy a KZread and then not take the seconds to thumbs up. And for those that don't enjoy it. Leave a comment. It may help the youtuber understand what folks want. Its a win win

Thank you for that speech at the end. Cut out the spot welds and removed my battery tray months ago and I've been sitting on it forever. Motivated me to just go knock it out and get it done.

Thanks for the spot weld cutter tip! I agree, these rust repair jobs are super dirty and tedious but thankfully they are satisfying when they're done.

I just started this exact same project today with the same ZCarDepot tray! All I did was stare at the hole and fiddle with the bracket. Good to know I'm not the only one who is going to have to make some bends.

Quite often people bolt them back in with hi tensile bolts, does make painting slot easier too

Me and my buddy were thinking of getting into rally? whats the hardest part of entering you say?

It''ll depend on what level you want to enter at, if you want to go full stage rally then having the money for a complete car and all the funds to run the event are definitely the biggest hurdle for most people. If you just want to start with rallycross though then that's fairly simple and can be done in pretty much any car.
