DATING AGAIN AFTER DIVORCE AND KIDS | Q&A

Hi everyone.
As promised, here is a Q&A video answering your questions regarding dating again as a co-parenting mother. Just a reminder that I can only share based on my experiences. Nonetheless, I hope you guys enjoy.
Also wanted to add that sometimes I feel like there is stigma amongst those who are mothers and divorced. It takes so much courage to leave a relationship that is no longer serving. Mothers take selflessness to a whole new level so know you are not only an asset but you are so worthy of love.
Love your friend Lindy xo

Yes. I left a 6 year relationship because he always prioritised his friends over our relationship and i always knew throughout the relationship I was second best and was never going to be enough. It broke me but I refuse to be someone second option. It didn’t matter how much I loved him, I was never going to be enough for him 😣💔

Although Isaac might not remember much of Tim being around the house, I'm sure he will know a lot more and understand a lot more about the separation than you realise, unlikely to ever verbalise it other than when he was playing with the dinosaurs and cried when Daddy dinosaur left the family. My parents split at age 4, I remember the conversation when they said he would no longer live at our home and how significant my life changed afterwards moving between houses and having separate holidays, so much so that the new normal erased whatever good memories I had of him in the home before the split. Children are much more canny than you think they will be.

Awk bless. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I completely agree with you that children are much more intuitive than you think. I also do believe there is a lot of resilience in them and as long as they continue to be raised with love, they can grow up happy and healthy too. I know there will be more questions to come in the future and as much as I dread the moment, I'll be ready for it.

I feel like I was a very optimistic child because I observed very little, I was the same age as you when my parents divorced and the news only made me excited to have 2 bedrooms. I never noticed any flaws in their relationship as they never argued with us around so it all happened very fast and painlessly. I've always felt glad they split as they both moved on well in life since and both kept up their 50/50 roles in my life. I think all these things combined made it so that even as a kid divorce was never something sad to me.

The most important for children of divorced parents is that the parents are happy 💜 My parents divorced when I was 7 and nothing of it really hurt me. What has hurt me in my life has been my mother's unhappiness. She stayed alone and she grew bitter and bitter to the point she became really abusive... I wish you the best and advice you to be happy! I'm so happy to hear your positivity and just love how respectful you are despite what you've been through ♥️ My parents divorced when I was pretty young and aware of what was going on. It was awful and I suffered a fair amount of trauma from the fall out, but despite that my parents are still good friends to this day. Sometimes I wish they weren't, as my dad is still stuck in the past, still in love with my mum, so it's hard to see how painful it is for him, but I've always been thankful that my mum didn't stick it out for my sake as it could have been so much worse! Hope you, RG and Isaac and Ayla are doing well 🤗♥️ Thank you for being and endless fountain of positivity and inspiration!

Ive always stuck around because you were one of the few youtubers that had a special energy to them that I could not pinpoint. I thought cars overseas was mostly manual, it's interesting to me that yours is an automatic (or at least from what I can tell). But my reason to comment: Lindy you have been the big sister I've looked up too since I was in middle school/high school. I'm nearing 30 now and still find so much solace with things you talked about (and yes i miss your Bubbosity videos!). I may not have been married or have kids, but I left a decade+ long relationship 3 years ago a broken person, only stayed because my family taught me that a financially well off Chinese family was my road to happiness. Now the future is a giant unknown for me, but I am very hopeful and excited. True, I'm scared...but hearing you talk about yourself and your feelings is so comforting to me. I can never thank you enough for being you Lindy!

When you spoke about trying to drive your partner away b/c of your trauma and then saying he choose to stay really hit home. Though my situation is completely different then yours, being I simply suffer from depression since childhood from just being alive it feels like most days; i warned my partner even before getting together that when things "got bad" they " got BAD". Fast forward when things "got BAD" i told him " you still have a chance to leave, I dont think you truly realized what you signed up for." His reply was simply " That may be true but I dont want you going it alone." We now been together for 2 years and my depression is worse than its ever been but he has never left my side, he's taken the time to learn from my doctor appointments what he can do, what are my warning signs, he monitors my meds, is stupid protective and will always bring me my fur-babies to curl up with when feeling extra down hehe. Thank you for reminding me how lucky I am to have him in my life! I am so happy you're happy again. Wishing you and the family continued happiness♡♡♡

When kids are 3-5 divorcing is easier for them. The problem I think is when they are older. But either way, I'm so happy you could navigate the situation in a constructive way. Life and be hard sometimes, but you navigate through it with strength and kindness. I wish you the best of the best.

For the question on how to trust after heartbreak, I had gone through a terrible break up back in August last year that has left me with pretty intense traumas that I’m still working through, but I felt that what really helped the trust factor for me was dialing into the trust I have in the other people I love in my life. I was casually dating as a distraction but met someone that I had feelings for but it took a while to admit to myself because I honestly just wrote him off over and over again because I was in a space of trying to build walls to where I wouldn’t need to think about trusting him, which he also proved me wrong frequently that he was trustworthy and I was being stubborn. When going through this my friends would remind me to really focus on his actions and think to myself “If a current loved one of mine (friend or family) did this to/for me, would it add or take away from the relationship? How much? Would it even make a shift because of the trust you’ve built? Why did you build your trust with them? Is it something that this new person has also given to you as well? Essentially I just had to try to be really introspective and understand that the people that come in will all be different, which is what Bubz said, but this exercise is something I forced myself to do because I was starting to get scared that I would push him too far. And it helped to build a mutual trust for him to know that I was at least trying.

Hi bubz. I don’t know what cosmic energy made me want to come check up on you? And I’m glad I did. I’ve watched you since 2010 cause of your humor and relatable personality. I know we are each going through our own journey of growth and healing. That seeing you now, still hanging in there strong and trying to assure your fans or people watching your videos. Of life changes and hardship and still keep moving forward. Thank you for this video about discussing on insecurities/relationships/co dependency on partners. As I’m struggling with my anxiety, insecurities within myself and my relationship. Like I don’t feel enough or worthy. Both of my sisters in different states are trying to help me and give me word of advice to heal myself. My older sister signed me up for Bible study group. And my little sister (also a Sagittarius ♐️) was sending me quotes and self help videos to heal. Then I saw you today speaking Similar topics I’m dealing with. Thank you for your assurance and god bless you and your family. That I hope you always happiness ☀️

My parents divorced when I was 5 or 6 and it was really hard on me, but mostly because we lived a pretty unstable life after that. I was angry at my parents for years, BUT: Now that I am older I fully understand why they had to get divorced. The relationship just wasn't good for either of them and now they both are having a much betterl life with lovely partners. I am super happy for both of them and glad it went they way it did :)

Hey bubz! I’m revisiting your channel because I recently reconnected with a friend and we used to watch your videos together in high school! That was also around the time when my parents got a divorce. I remember my mom telling me how the image of her family and marriage became shattered in her head afterwards. It made me sad because I saw it as liberation for her as a woman and mother. Thanks for redefining what it is to be a divorcee and mother on behalf of my mom. She is still having trouble to this day (12 years later) but now she proudly shows off how much she does on her own, recognizing herself as an individual. Also lol Isaac was shouting “I KNOW” at the end to the person who asked about discussing divorce with the kids 😂. Lordt knows I knew as a kid.

Amen Bubz👏🏻💯 Lots of people have misconceptions about managing out emotions meaning to hold in or control emotions…The truth is more about managing our actions, watch how we react, do and how we utter… manage our tone and words when we are trying to go through our tougher emotions. Mental health / healthy communication is homework for a lifetime, it’s ongoing hard effort. I look up to you Bubz, you’ve become wiser and wiser and always feel like you’re my big sister even though our ages aren’t far apart ❤︎🌱💐

Bubs, we were pregnant about the same time with our older sons, I used to watch ur pregnant videos and it felt like we were going through it together even though we r strangers. I also enjoyed all the videos from ur 20s with the Korean drama ost in the background. I stopped a few years and was shocked to learn about ur divorce, at the same time, I was sadden by the news.you are a good person, as long as u r happy, we r at the age where many things don’t matter as much as being happy, healthy and cherishing the little worthwhile moments. Best wishes!
