Data Center HVAC Systems

Ғылым және технология

Data Center HVAC Systems, how they work and the different types of HVAC Equipment that is used including CRAC and CRAH units, CDU's and the difference between Air-Cooled and Liquid Cooled Data Centers.
Data centers consume a lot of energy and produce a lot of heat. Learn how HVAC systems are designed to efficiently remove this heat.

Here is an interesting fact I learned from a video about the Amundsen Scott South Pole Station. There is a building that contains all the computer data center equipment. This is the only building that has to be forced cooled because of all the computer equipment in it. All other buildings and the Amundsen Scott raised station require heating all the time to keep them warm because of the extremely cold environment.

@@MEPAcademy If you lower the back pressure from the hot side it will pull more cold air through the cold side. You already have physics working for you since hot air tends to be less dense, and lower pressure than cooler air.

@@rolandotillit2867 I believe you're talking about the typical Hot Aisle Containment Strategy as shown in the video. The hot aisle air is contained and is drawn back to the Air Handler or CRAC unit by the negative side of the fan.

Indirect evaporative cooling limit of product air temperature is wet bulb. Dew-point indirect regenerative air cooling breaks this barrier and cools approaching dew-point, not wet-bulb temperature. Would MEP Academy report on it, including use case of data center cooling?
